Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Cooper is a 2-year-old labradoodle who was relinquished to the Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter because his owner is very ill. He is up-to-date on all his shots, and is reportedly housetrained and a well-behaved, calm boy. He appears to have a non-shedding curly coat as well. He is not in danger of euthanasia at this time, but as you can imagine, he is very stressed at the shelter and needs a loving home ASAP.
If you have any friends or relatives who would like to adopt this adorable boy, here's the contact info. This is a municipal shelter, and the adoption fees are very low.

I wish my mom's house remodel was done. She would fall in love with this guy.
Wow, do you know how far Peoria Illinois is from Indianapolis, Indiana? I would love to adopt this guy. Would 3 males all 2 yrs old get along? He is neutered isn't he?
It's probably around 3 hours.
Thanks, I found it -- 190 miles, so you are right -- around 3 hours. No problem!!
He is neutered, but I would check with the shelter concerning out of state adoptions.
Hopefully that isn't a problem. He is going to call.
I know someone from Indiana who is going to call the shelter now. His dog's name that he had when he was young was Cooper and he was a chocolate lab. This is a perfect fit for him, especially since Cooper is 2 years old. Hopefully there won't be any problems with out of state adoptions. This just is fate that Cooper is available. I personally have 2 golden doodles and he has been wanting one too. Wow, Cooper is just what he is looking for.
I just spoke with Vicki in Peoria and she says this dog will be placed today! She says he has several possibilities or would go to rescue tomorrow. Sounded pretty sure it had a home bc I offered to foster him and said I didn't want him to have to go to rescue. I'm so happy for the pup!!
The last communication I got, which was from the shelter director and is NOT the person you spoke to, was that there are three families coming to look at him over the weekend. Shelter workers do not always have the correct facts. Yes, rescue is standing by if needed. He is not in danger, as I said, but I don't think he will be placed today. Let's not diminish his pool of potential adopters by announcing that it's a done deal. He is still available and will remain available until the shelter officially tells us he is adopted. They are still accepting applications.(Diane, are you registered as a foster home with any of the doodle adoption groups? We always need fosters. Fostering a dog means that he is in rescue, lol.)
OH MY GOSH. He looks like a Chocolate version of Rusty!! How adorable. I'm sure he will find a great home. If he is anything like Rusty, he has a lot of love to give!!!
As expected, Cooper has already been adopted! I hope he got wonderful new family!
