Okay just when I thought we were passed any "stomach issues" BAM! This morning our dog - acting fine, ate her 'breakfast' of canned dog food which she has been doing great with for months (probably since the beginning of the summer,) all of a sudden went running under the dining room table (her favorite hiding spot) and began vomiting up all her food for no apparent reason. She did not exercise/run after eating - nothing. I inspected it thoroughly like all mommies do, and found nothing but food. She seemed "mopey" all day and tonight too. She had pancreatitis last April due to getting into some pork from the garbage - but has been FINE! since. The two things that 'changed' recently was - I have started re-introducing some dry food (about 1/3 cup two times a day) to her canned food, AND twice this week, I 'allowed' her to have a smidgen - about a small blob on my finger,of peanut butter (low-fat) rubbed along one of her nyla-bones. I really rubbed it into the bone really just to give it some flavor. I did this last night about 10:30. So, I guess what I'm asking in a very LONG way is... Did you ever hear of a dog having a peanut allergy? (My husband thinks I have totally lost it). Do you? THANKS for your help!

I don't think this sounds like an allergic reaction due to the symptom, vomiting, & length of time from ingestion.
Thanks! I'm glad. Just hope she's ok... Maybe she just ate too fast ???? Although i only give her a little at a time.... Thanks again!
Shelly, I responded to your other discussion about "peanut allergies".
Vomitting is never a symptom of food allergies in dogs. (In fact, it's not a symptom of peanut allergies in kids, either).
We have a lot of info about food allergies in The Food Group and Health & Medical Issues Group, if you want more info about them. But your pup's vomiting has nothing to do with a food allergy.
Hopefully, she just had an upset tummy.
Thanks again, Karen!!! You put my mind at ease. Wish I knew about you guys last spring when I was an emotional wreck because of her pancreatitis. But from what I hear, it could have been much worse! Thanks so much!!! Shelly
Just a thought, are you sure she is really vomiting, or is she regurgitating her food. Some dogs will regurgitate their food and than re-eat it, as a Mom would do for her pups in the wild. Something to keep an eye on and inform your Vet if it keeps happening....

Hmmm.... Well it was only about 20-30 minutes since she ate and it was really mostly food, AND she did try and eat it again. I actually didn't let her, was I supposed to? I will definitely check out those 2 links. Thanks. (So far this morning and last night - NOTHING she was fine - KNOCK WOOD!!!)
OK... Read the links.. It was definitely vomiting. She wretched and I could hear her getting sick, that's why I ran to her. Hopefully it was just this one episode. Thanks again!
Something else I thought of...My Rottie Magic use to vomit up her food... some chewed and mushy and some looked like it was just as it was put in her bowl. She was great at doing this about every 2 weeks, we would be at the Vet....found out her problem had to do with the way the stomach digested and released her food to be processed to the intestines, teaching her not to gulp her food, proper diet for her ( was not my choice of dog food, but stopped her from vomiting), and just a short walk to releave herself after meals worked for her. If they are regurgitating their food, you can let them eat it, but if it's vomit I wouldn't, and if it keeps happening every now and then I would talk with your Vet.
After a bout of pancreatitis you need to be real careful about fat intake. Could be the new kibble is fatty and you know the peanut butter is.....Maybe she did just eat too fast.
Yeah - Thanks. Ugh! These furry babies - they're just as worrisome as our kids! LOL Thanks again! No more peanut butter. I'll check her kibble, but it is the same food I give her in can, but dry and it is for sensitive stomachs. We're through about 1/2 a 20 pound bag,, but you never know ???? Thanks again!
Oh no Shelly, just saw this thread. Hope Tori is ok. Krimmi throws up every once a while too, but it is usually just mushy food, doesn't look or smell like vomit at all. I was really hoping she would be ok with some dry kibble
Hi Corinna!
She's ok now. Not even sure if it was her kibble or even the peanutbutter or - probably ~Just me being a "nervous nilly". Not to sound gross, but it WAS really just her food. In fact she tried to eat it again YUCK! LOL She seems fine now. In 'the old days' dogs getting sick was no big deal. I don't know what it is these days - either I'm becoming more worried or these dogs are not considered to be "dogs" and more like our "kids". Ooo - did I just say that?! No, she's been really good lately. Hope all is well with Krimmi
