I've had my doodle for 3 years now and it never ceases to amaze me on how quickly they learn what is expected of them. For instance, 3 yrs. ago when we 1st introduced our doodle to our household, we already had a Brittany. We set up 2 sets of feed bowls, one for the new guy and of course, the Brittany already had hers. Well my doodle loves to eat, my Brittany, not so much. The Brittany's food can hang around in her bowl all day and she won't touch it. Well, looks like a perfect double dip situation for my doodle. But no, all it took was that very 1st day at our house when he finished his bowl of food and mosied over to the Brittany's bowl to start his double dipping and our reprimanding him with a stern voice, No, No, Lucky that's K.D's food! This is your bowl! And do you know that to this day, 3 years later, he still has never eaten her food! We can be gone for hours, come back and still it sits! There are more examples but this one impresses me the most because like I said, my doodle loves to eat! What are the behaviors of your doodles that impress you the most?

We have noticed how fast Chewie learns new commands, but just today he impressed me in another way. He has been reliable in the house for quite sometime now with no accidents (He's 6 months), but had not really come up with a way to let us know he needs to go out. He would often sit by the door, but if we didn't notice him, what good does that do. Well, today I was in the back of the house and he came to me and started hitting me with his paw. At first I ignored him, but when he continued I thought, Okay, I'll play a while. As soon as we went toward to front of the house, he immediately went to the door. I took him out and it was clear it had been trying to tell me this had been what he was trying to tell me. I was so proud of him!
we bought big jingle bells and hung them by ribbon on the doors and Ruger now noses them and rings them when he needs to go out. I love how they learn so quickly! : )
What impresses me the most is how Guinness can totally read my mood and what I'm thinking. Sometimes it's like he's looking right into my heart with those big beautiful brown eyes. I have a smile on my face most of the time now....because he's just so darn funny.
Wow! That's a hard one - there's soooo much that she impresses us with! I guess if I had to pick one (or two) it would probably how fast she picked up using the bells on the door to go out - BTW - it impresses a lot of our friends and family too. But probably.. the winner would be - when it's time to go in her crate at night, all I have to do is open up the freezer. She looks to make sure that I'm grabbing her plastic bowl of 'meatballs' (her caned food I roll into small meatballs), and ZOOM she runs right into her crate and waits. It almost makes me sad! (You'd think she was food deprived or something!). Gotta' LOVE EM'!!!
I agree as well, we just bought a new sofa and we are not letting Jordan on it.She had free range before. One time is all it took. She tried to get on the new sofa, I said Off, she has not tried since. I call her "Jordan 1 time"! Doodles are are good because they are the perfect mix. ;)
