I have a 14 month old F1 standard labradoodle and he is about 70 pounds and 26-27 inches at the shoulder. He outweighs both of his parents by 20 pounds! But, he is all legs, muscle, and hair! There is not an ounce of fat on him. We exercise him a lot!!! We love his size, but the breeder was horrified when she found out how big he got, he was only supposed to be 50-55 pounds!!
Your dood looks just like mine (and many other chocolate doodles) except he is a little lighter. Our Hondo weighs 105 pounds and is 28 inches tall. Your dood may still grow a little - he is pretty young. Check out the other doodles at the Chocolate Doodles group. You will see many look alikes. I'm probably prejudiced, but I think he is wonderful. Is he an indoor dog?
Yes, he lives indoors. But, he loves going outside. In the winter he often rings the bell to go out and then just lies in the snow (perhaps there is some husky in his background!!!). He seems totally iimune to the cold, and ran around like a mad thing at the dog park the other week in -25C temperatures (I was so cold!).
Totally different to our new puppy who doesn't even like to get his feet wet - making housetraining a bit of a challenege!
Cooper is about 80-85# (weighed 80 about 2 mo ago) and stands at 30" at the withers/shoulders. He is one tall skinny dood! He's got those long skinny poodle legs.
30 inches tall?? WOW that seems really tall. The Irish Wolfhound is one of the worlds tallest dogs. Averaging 32-34 inches tall for males and 30-32 inches for females. So wow I had no idea that doodles could be compared to Irish Wolf Hounds. That's amazing. So cool. I love big dogs. Mine is getting there. He's only 8 months old and 24 inches and about 75 pounds. He was supposed to be a medium sized doodle I was told he'd be 45-55 pounds. Haha!
this is him before his last growth spurt. I think he grew like 10-15 pounds since then.
I have a 70 lb girl Sadie. She is all muscle and runs and swims constantly. She is very tall. I haven't measured her but can easily rest her head on the table top. This is not allowed but sometimes does happen. She eats about a cup and a half of Orijen in the morning and a raw turkey neck in the evening along with treats of fruit and veggies during the day.
She does not have a picky appetite .Loves to cuddle.
Hi, Winston was 75 pounds a month ago. He might be a little heavier now, but I don't think by much. He was a year on the 10th of October. He is tall, but I have never measured him, so I don't know how many inches. He has a very large head.
He makes my Rottweiler look small.
My Toby has a HUGE head! LOL! I think that's the golden in them. Your Doodle looks very BIG sitting with you on that bench and so very cute. He looks Bigger then 75 pounds at least in that picture. I love our big doods.
