About Me:
Bumble, our female chocolate Labradoodle puppy arrived on Nov. 21. We are a family of four humans (including two young children) living by the side of a great big park in Brooklyn, NY. We have all taken quite a shine to Bumble, especially our youngest girl who is almost two and quite brave and sweet with our dog!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Female chocolate Australian Labradoodle puppy named Bumble. She has an incredibly sweet disposition. Spirited and fun, but not too spirited for us!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Allergies and sociability with children, as well as how adorable looking Labradoodles are.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
So far, playing ball in the backyard has to be our favorite. But she's just completing her shots, so soon we will be able to take her to the amazing "off-leash" hours in the park, which is an amazing sight. This being a slice of New York City, we literally watch dogs of every breed and every description gather in our large meadow for off-leash play. Can't wait.

Nope!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
So far, we bathe her and give her light brushings to get her used to the brush. Working up to our first nail clipping!

Hi Park Mom! Haven't been on DK for a while. Thanks for mentioning urbanhound.com. I found it helpful while in NY. Camden enjoyed early morning romps in Stuyvesant Park on 2nd ave. and he learned that city street sounds are not life-threatening. :-)

How is Bumble? Did I mention I love that name!

I saw on puppy maddness your pup weighed 14.5 lbs at 17 weeks. How much does she weigh now? My pup is 17 weeks and 15 lbs. The breeder thought she would be around 43. I don't think that's going to happen.

hi! haven't been on dk for a while... yes, lily is a small medium, she was 32 lbs. at 7 mos. I was shocked but I was relieved because I was feeling like a weakling! She'll probably only put on 2 or 3 more pounds (who knows though?). Her appetite slowed down right around 6 mos. I want to say she was a little bigger than Bumble at 4 1/2 mos.

HI Park Mom, I believe Bumble and Camden are cousins! I live in the Boston area, but actually grew up in NY and went to HS in Brooklyn. I am back in the city on a work assignment and thought about bringing Camden into the city (he stays with DH now) to experience it with me. I've researched small dog runs, dog walkers, pet stores, you name it and am still not confident I can get Camden comfortable here (with me in a hotel). I know you're in Brooklyn, but I wondered if you had any recommendations for dog services (grooming, walking, food supply, etc.) in Manhattan or otherwise.

The older ones love the cold...Zoey is too young for walks and I do use a sweater for her as she gets really cold. I am looking forward to warmer weather....Ozzy is very stong I use a harness when we walk but just a collar when he is at school.

NO! my kids are 27 - 26 - 20 and 16....the dogs are so much easier LOL they won't be teenagers or need to go to college..LOL Zoey and Ozzy play all the time and get along great...Little Zoey keeps Ozzy in his place really funny to watch, and Woody is old so he is happy to be left alone now that Ozzy has someone else to play with him.....but, I remember the days of little ones so close in age and so young...now I just enjoy being a grandmother.

HI park Mom
We are all going really well here - lots of trips to the beach and the lagoon for Ollie as it is very warm!!!
We have just come back from visiting rellies in Perth. WA which is on the other side of the country to us. We had to leave Ollie for the first time and I couldn't believe how much we missed him.... We were very lucky that he went to a friends house that also has a labradoodle from the same breeder so I think they played non stop for a week. I am sure he grew even bigger while we were away... He was very quiet last night (when we got him back) - I think he was waiting for his goodnight kiss from Barney!!!
We need to get Ollie into some more training - we have slacked off a bit since the initial burst so I will look around and find another course for slightly older dogs. The kids are on summer holidays for another week so it might be a back to school job!!!! He was 6 months on the 12 January.
We have people arriving from UK tonight so I probably shouldn't be messing on here......lol..... Things to do!!!!!
