Hi- Go the the Event tab and then check out the Portland Doodle Romp on March 14th. The last one was really fun. Our smaller doodle, Bella, was a little bit afraid when we first got there but really got into it after just a few minutes. Guess she saw how much fun everyone was having and decided not be left out. Your pup will probably do okay there - much less dogs there than at the DD.
The DD is an Oregon Humane Society event every May. There are a lot of dogs there - all kinds. You can go to the OHS web page and check it out. The first year we went we just walked around (Rozee was just 6 months old then) so we could see how Rozee handled the crowd, etc. She did pretty well but we wanted it to be more socialization than anything else. The last two years we've done the actual walk - last year with both dogs.
Good Morning - I see you joined the Portland Group - the Romp info is there and also on the Events page. It will be great to meet you! We're also exploring having a group of Doodles for the Doggie Dash in May. Have you ever gone to the DD?
Hi there! We actually only have one doodle, although we often times have Kirby's brother for sleep-overs so we kind of have 2 doodles. My mom recently purchased a labradoodle from SpringCreek so there's yet another doodle in the family. We always have the camera out for family photos!
We've often thought of getting a 2nd doodle but right now I don't think our house/yard could withstand a 2nd one! Maybe one day in the future when we get into a more permanent housing situation.
Lola is a doll! It's crazy how much she looks like our dood when his hair is grown out!
Hi-Well, wet doodles! Boy can we relate! We keep a huge stack of towels by both dog doors. We have one door going from the utility room to the garage and another going from the garage to the dog run area. We also have rugs forming a "walk way" between the two doors--helps so much on the muddy feet. Other than that we just deal with wet doods. We don't have to worry about exercise here because with two dogs they really exercise each other. Before we got Bella we took Rozee to the Puppy Play House here in Sherwood twice a week for day care just so she would have some dogs to play with and be around. Mats were a real problem when the dogs were going from their puppy coat to the adult coat - about 10-12 months old. We bought a mat breaker for grooming but some were so bad we had to cut them out. We also had the girls groomed and cut pretty short during that period. That really helped. We use slicker bursh and comb on both girls at lease every other day. Hope this helps.
Hi Tricia-Our Bella would be a cousin of your baby. Bella's mother (Zoe) and your Lola's mother (Treasure) are sisters! We live in Sherwood - just down the road from you. We should get the girls together sometime. Bella is 18 months old.
Yes Ozzie is curly fleece. Very easy to take care of, but when his coat is too long he does mat on his hips and around his neck. He HATES being brushed. I think Trusty is no longer at SpringCreek. He has moved on to spread his genes around elsewhere! What a sweetheart of a doggie!
Trusty is Ozzie's daddy! Jilin, now retired, is his Mom. That Trusty....he has a lot of doggie babies out here. But from what I have heard, he passes on the best temperament to all of his kiddos. If Ozzie is an example, that is certainly a true fact!
She looks so sweet! Brody is from Designer Doodles in Spokane, WA. He is pretty mellow too. He gets the 'puppy crazies' like all pups, but is pretty mellow all around. We would love to meet up sometime. Preferably on a warm day. Today wasn't too bad, but its supposed to get really cold again this week!
