My vet sells organic food for dogs and he suggested that I consider changing the store brand food I feed my 14 week old puppy to Orijen. Since I'm new to this whole doodle world, I was wondering if…Continue

About Me:
I'm 54yr old, wife to a wonderful man, mother of two wonderful children (20 & 23 yrs old), and a new mom to a Goldendoodle.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have an F1 golden-doodle purchased at a petshop. We named her Emma and she is currently 14 weeks old. She is a beautiful girl, we are happy to have gotten her and looking forward to all the wonderful things I hear about owning a g-doodle from this site. We do have a smaller dog, her name is Zoey. She is an 8 yr old Maltese and weighs 8lb. She is trying to adjust to Emma; but the biggest challenge we have (among other things) is trying to keep Emma from bouncing on her and thinking Zoey wants to play. But we are in love with our Emma.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Pet store
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I choose a g-doodle, because I've always wanted a golden retriever. The shedding of such a dog was not conducive for my family. Our first family dog was a rescue Maltese/poodle mix that was a joy and gave us 10+ years of love. Shortly before he passed, we added a toy Maltese to our family, and she is currently living with us and enjoying a life of leisure...well until we got Emma-that is. I felt a G-doodle would give me the best of two worlds-a golden retriever and poodle, plus the added benefit of little to no shedding. (which I found out is not completely true in an F1 mix). However, it is minimal enough to not cause allergies with my son, who was my biggest concern when getting this type of dog. I feel Emma will be a great companion for my son, and one we can love and take care of for many years.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Right now we just love playing and taking her out on walks.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Haven't had her hair cut yet, but a little nervous, because I don't want her to have a bad cut.

You're welcome!!! Thank you. Emma is so adorable. She has a sweet and cute face. Enjoy with Emma. Believe me I never had a Goldendoodle or a big dog. I always has a poodle all my life. I usually have either t-cup, toy or mini. I love her very much. I fell in love all Goldendoodle and labradoodle at LBI, NJ. That's long beach island. Have a great time with Emma.
