I am a 36-year old female who lives in VA. I am married, no children, unless you want to count our Doodle. I would love to find others who have Goldendoodles or Labradoodles. I would love to get our dogs together for some playtime. I would also love to meet other owners.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have a female Goldendoodle who is a little over a year old. Her name is Katie (aka Katie Bug). She is mostly white with a strip of brindle going down her back. She is the best dog. She loves any type of ball, be it her tennis ball or her soccer ball. She has about 3 walks a day. She loves to go to the park and go hiking in the beautiful mountains we have available in Virginia.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
My husband and I had a small dog who was with us for 14 years. He was my heart. We felt like we wanted a larger dog. I had wanted a Golden, but neither one of us wanted to put up with the shedding. About a year before our other dog passed I heard about the Goldendoodles. I did a lot of research and just knew it was the dog for us. We have been SO happy with our decision. I am hoping to talk my husband into getting a male down the road.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Walk, play ball, work on tricks, going hiking and visit friends.
Hello GRAD member,
We have a new and exciting event coming July 26th, from 1-4 to celebrate our recent jump to 100 members!
We will be having a BBQ/Picnic and a lake for the doodles to go swimming at The Dude Ranch in Glen Allen. Please check out the discussion on the group page entitled "Party Time" and respond there if you plan to attend so I can get a doodle head count for the facility.
Thanks and hope to see you there!

Hi Allison,
We started high with Brody's dose - he is 90 lbs so they started him out on 75 mg. The vet said the levels looked perfect at the first check so we'll see how they are now in a couple weeks. I am hoping we don't have to adjust.
I am so sorry you are having to go through seizures again with Katie. I know how nerve wrecking it is. It took me a long time to be able to actually sleep and not jump at every sound Brody made during the night.
Have a great vacation and let's plan on getting together after the 4th of July. We are pretty busy the rest of this month with travel too but July is wide open.
Hi Allison,
I am SO sorry to hear that Katie is having seizures again. I've heard good things about KBr so maybe that will work. Poor baby. We have been lucky that Brody hasn't had any more seizures since going on the meds, which is coming up on 6 months. He has an appt. in a couple weeks to check his blood and make sure the Pheno isn't having a bad effect on him. He seems to be having allergy problems with his ears and eyes but that is about it.
Keep me posted on how Katie is doing and let's plan on getting together soon for another doodle playdate.
Hello again GRAD member! Just sending out a reminder that our next gathering will be at the Easter Parade on Monument Ave. We will be meeting at Jaime's house at 1 pm. Check out the discussion on the group page for more details and hope to see you there!
Hey there GRAD member,
This is a reminder that the Spring Romp is next weekend March 15th at 1pm. The make-up date in case of bad weather is the following Sunday. We have some great news, our newest member Charnell told me her daughter Amy, is launching a canine therapeutic massage business and she has volunteered to provide some freebie massages to the GRAD group at the romp. Also as I stated in the e-mail message we will be having a few contest. Inspired by Strange's Dog days in the garden, the best sit/stay, the owner/doodle look-a-like, and the best dressed for St. Patty's day contests. Please respond in the discussion on the group page if you will be attending and please let me know if you are new to the group, are attending and would like your GRAD bandana for your doodle.
Thanks and hope to see you there!

Allison - we are still planning on having a little party for Brody this Sunday afternoon from 2-4 to celebrate the big 2-0. I hope that Katie can make it and that she is doing well. Our address is 2701 Savage View Drive, Midlothian, 23112. I can send you detailed directions if you need them - our neighborhood is pretty new so mapquest isn't the best. Hope to see you Sunday!
Hi Allison - it's good to hear form you! And good to hear that Katie is doing well. Brody continues to do well also - no seizures in almost two months! We are planning on having a small party for Brody's 2nd birthday on March 8 and we'd love to have you and Katie come. I am thinking like 2-4 pm. I have a fenced in backyard so the dogs can run and play and have some doggie birthday cake. I'll touch base with you again as it gets closer to the date. Hope to see you soon!
Hi Allison,
Just wanted to check in and see how Katie is doing. Brody is still seizure-free so we are so thankful for that. He seems to have days where he's energetic and others where he sleeps alot but he's mostly back to normal. I saw that you will be out of town the weekend of the Carytown walk but maybe we can get Brody and Katie together soon . . .Brody's second birthday is March 4 so I was thinking of having a mini romp with a few people at our house on a weekend close to that date.
