Anick, is this puppy from the same breeder as Pax?
I have a friend who may be able to trace the poodle lines and check the inherited disease database for JRD. Let me see what I can do.
Is Pax an F1? Which dogs were his parents?
Yeah, they all say that whenever a client tells them about a health issue in a dog. "Oh, I've never had that in any of my dogs". It's baloney. I know of many health issues in doodles from Swiss Ridge, and Sherry always denies that any of her dogs ever had it, here's just one discussion about them, from years back: http://disc.yourwebapps.com/discussion.cgi?disc=141437;article=366687;title=Doodle%20Discussion%20Forum
Most likely, your puppy has a genetic condition called Juvenile Renal Disease or JRD, which runs in Standard Poodles. Here is some information: http://www.vetprof.com/clientinfo/poodlerenal.html
Unfortunately, there is also a familial form of renal disease that runs in Bernese Mtn Dogs. So this may have been a double whammy. But I would pursue compensation from the breeder.
I am very sorry for you and your pup.
Anick, I commented in the discussion that you started concerning the diagnosis. You should probably contact your breeder to let them know what is happening. Usually the health guarantee that comes with your puppy covers some of the expenses. I am praying that he responds to treatment.
