Doodle & Poodle smooches from Riley & Brigit

About Me:: We have lived in the Florida Keys for 18 years... originally from Utah and Drew is from New York via Ft. Lauderdale. We love to fish, dive, ski and love animals. Drew always said that he wanted a boy golden retriever and now we have the best of both with a boy doodle!

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We got our Standard Poodle from the Shelter where they had uncovered a puppy mill with 50 dogs in our area breeding Standard Poodles and Golden Retrievers. We adopted Brigit, a black standard poodle that was pregnant with nine (9) golden doodle puppies. On July 15th, Brigit had 5 black and 4 blonde doodles... 3 girls and 6 boys. They were all healthy and totally adorable. We kept the last black boy whose name is Riley (Gaelic for the "Valiant One"). In October of 2012, we adopted another GoldenDoodle who was in Golden Rescue South Florida and only 6 months old and already had a lot of bad habits. Her name is Morgan Maye and she is a free spirit, a love and makes us smile every day.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder, Shelter, Rescue

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Before Brigit, I had owned 3 standard poodles who passed away of old age and one of bone cancer. We did not have a dog in the house for almost 6 years. I am very allergic to dog dander and was OK with the poodles... and now our doodle too.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Riley loves to play with his Mom, Brigit but also loves to walk on or off his leash. He loves to retrieve his H2O water toy. He likes to swim and we took him to the beach last week. Morgan loves to play ball and squeek her toys. Our Doodles love to travel and can't wait to get in our RV so that we can all be together as a pack.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: We have a wonderful Groomer here in town and they go every 5 weeks. So in between appointments, I will clip around their eyes, ears and mouth.

Meet our new family member Morgan Maye O'Doodle. She is a 6 mo. old GoldenDoodle we rescued through Golden Rescue South Florida. She is sweet and sassy and fitting in well with our retired Puppy Mill Mommy Brigit, her GoldenDoodle Boy Riley. We already love her soooooo much!

Lexi was born to a white poodle Mom and a white English retreiver dad on June 3oth. We live in Fort Lauderdale, and love the Keys. Have been thinking about buying a place down there....Lexi is a sweetheart but a problem eater...........she just doesn't like to eat. She is now 9 months and weighs about 40 lbs.
