I've trained Muppet to walk/run on our treadmill. I used treats in the beginning, but gradually faded them out for obvious reasons. It's an effective form of exercise, but he doesn't enjoy it like…Continue

To keep his brain busy, Kyoko! That tires them out too!

I have been teaching them little tricks. Today, I taught Pinot to sit in the small basin. For what? I have no idea!! LOL

Glad to have discovered this group.  I live in Chicago, which was recently voted the #1 dog-friendly city in American (I'm not sure by whom, or what that even means) - and while there is a ton of great stuff to do when the weather is nice, it's hard in the winter.  Look forward to hearing what people have to suggest.

What a great idea for a group.  I just spotted this now and am looking forward to getting some ideas.  for two days last week we didn't get out due to torrential rain so we were playing indoors!

Pat, I love this video! These dogs are amazing. My favorite is the poodle (I think it was a poodle) climbing the ladder.

Yep, I know what you mean Jane. I spend a lot of time on my stomach or knees looking for balls. I always know because she has her snout under the sofa and is softly moaning. We now keep those "gripper" thingies that you can buy at Home Depot under all the sofas!!! They look like big scissors but are for getting things in high places or picking up things if you can't bend over. Ours are specifically for Gracie's balls!!! lol

Thanks for sharing this Nancie and Gracie! I love this idea. The only problem I have with tennis balls is that they always seem to roll under furniture and then I'm down on my stomach with the yardstick trying to get them out. Maybe I should gate off an area, put them all in a basket like this, and then let Guinness go to town.

Well, it is one of those rare rainy days in sunny San Diego. We had rain last week and they predict on/off rain for the next three days. My Gracie Doodle is not use to rainy days since we are in our 7th year of a drought!! So, I put all her tennis balls in a pillowcase and washed them. Then gave her the basket of clean balls to play with on her blanket. I can hear the jingle bells around her neck as she is happily playing with all the balls. She chews, gathers them and rolls them around. She is good entertaining herself until she decides to dunk one in her water bowl or roll it under the sofa!!!
