Have you decided on a dog yet? Doodle? We have 2 other dogs that we dearly love but, we have a miniataure (maybe) labradoodle pup that was an impulse buy. We are crazy about his non shedding, his lack of odor, his great fur, and his overall look. His personality is really pleasing too.

Hi GAbe (or is it Gabe?),
Thank you for the compliment and puppy inquiry. I breed for temperament, and this litter reflects that. Mom, Lil Maine Love (Glory), is my sweet shadow. She prefers nothing better than cuddling on my lap or snoozing by my feet. Dad, Yum Yum, could not be more mellow. Both parents came from Australia and epitomize the exceptional ALD breed. Hope that helps.

We have a mini that has stayed a mini - he's 6 months old. We got him from Mary Pool at Stargazer labradoodles in California. I know she ships. Her website hasn't changed since August so I am not sure what's up. She was supposed to have puppies born in August. Ned looked just like all of her puppies except for color. Click on my website to see pictures of Ned to see if he is what you are looking for. Good luck.

Hi GAbe
ALDs hope to be recognized as a breed in the future which is why breeders of ALDs who have either silver or gold certification from the American Labroodle Association sell only neutered and spayed puppies or they are sold on a contract to neuter or spay by 6 months and then the ownership transfers to the new owner. To purchase an intact puppy from one of these breeders you must first become an ALA certified breeder. If you buy a multigen(eration) puppy from one of these breeders you can be fairly certain that it will "breed true". Only the originators of this breed, Tegan Park and Rutland Manor have the authority to breed in a non multigen parent. Visit either of these websites for a wealth of information.
Probably the "breeding a poodle back in" came from F2 goldendoodles and labradoodles. An F1 is an poodle and a lab or a golden mix They often are very different in looks. An F2 is an F1 "bred back" to a poodle and does produce more uniform puppies. ALDs are an "older" breed starting as early as 1984 in Australia and they have developed a standard to breed toward. All that said everyone on this sight loves their particular type of doodle regardless of its parentage. Nearly all of them seem to have excellent temperments.

Welcome to Doodle Kisses Gabe. You pose a good question about the Australian Labradoodle. It is not an AKC recognized breed (some owners prefer it that way). An Australian Labradoodle , or ALD, is a purpose bred dog. In the early 80's, a poodle was bred with a labrador to produce a hypoallergenic offspring to be a seeing eye dog for a woman whose husband was allergic to dogs. So the first ALD was a therapy dog. It also turned out to be a very loving dog who did not shed. These outstanding characteristics are found the ALD's of today. Early generation American labradoodles have the same cuddly nature but have a greater tendency to shed and/or irritate allergies. All are wonderful, wonderful companion animals. Good luck on your search.

Hi Gabe! Welcome to Doodle Kisses! You'll have a great time here =) I saw your note to Patty asking about the Australian labradoodle. True, not a "breed" in the strict sense, but the mix is a fabulous dog, especially when coming from a reputable breeder. I would suggest you ask your question in the main forum as you will get MANY responses there from many breeders (Patty is a good one by the way =)) and owners of Australian labradoodles. OR join the Australian labradoodle group and ask the question there so it is more focused on those who already breed or own them. I have two early generation labradoodles (mom=lab, father=poodle) and altho not a "breed" they are wonderful just like a lab or poodle would be except unique and diff than both.
