At 11:41am on August 7, 2009, Hollie Slattery said…: Well, I really screwed up! Against my better judgment I took Darbey to another groomer and asked her to trim her beard. I thought we had an understanding that I did not want her "shaved" and I did not want her to look like a poodle. Well, I picked her up and guess what! She looks just like a poodle. The lady shaved her whole face up to her ears and down to her neck and so close that you can see the skin. I am just sick! I know it will grow back, but she doesn't even look like my dog! I will NEVER make that mistake again. On a better note, if you live close to Allen, you should try out the new dog park at the new shopping complex off Stacy Road. It is in the parking lot in front of Petsmart. I took Darbey a couple of times and there were lots of dogs there both days. There are a lot of trees and it is pretty nice. I think we are leaving tomorrow morning to go back to Ohio. When I get home I'll post a picture of my "poodle"!

I wasn't real happy with it, but at least she is clean and she got all that mountain dirt off of her! I didn't have them cut her coat, just trim her eyes. What do you do with Chutney's beard? It is embarrassing when people go to pet Darbey and pull their hand back because she is dripping water because she just got a drink! I try drying her off, but I can't follow her around 24/7! I thought about having her beard shaved, but I'm afraid that will make her look more like a poodle! any suggestions? Do you have this problem?

We are headed to McKinney, Texas for 2 weeks and Darbey is really in need of a groomer! I was hoping you would be albe to recomend one in the area that understands the wishes of doodle owners! Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
