I am sorry for all the questions. I am trying to get as much info as possible.

How do you feel about doodle rescues? Good/bad....

I am not sure how I feel about it because I have young children. If I didn't have young children this is something I would totally do.

Thanks in advance for your advice! :)

I would also research labradoodles and goldendoodles very carefully if you have a child with allergies or asthma. Doodles vary greatly in their coats, and many, actually the majority, do shed and are not hypoallergenic, regardless of what you may have heard. To further complicate matters, doodles go through "coat changes" between puppyhood and adulthood, and a puppy who didn't shed may very well start to shed heavily as an adult. Many people have had to give up their year old doodles because of this. There is no way of knowing this when you buy a doodle puppy. We have many discussions here about this. The doodles who do not shed require a LOT of grooming & manitenance. We also have discussions here about this. Please make sure you research this carefully.
If I had an allergic child, I would go with a true hypoallergenic nonshedding purebred dog like a poodle, where you absolutely know what you are getting and there are NO surprises as the dog gets older.

Hi Samantha,
It's better to ask questions/advice in the discussion forum rather than writing a blog. The blog format really doesn't lend itself getting responses or answers to questions. Also, more people see the discussions in the forums. Blogs are more like "journal entries" where you are telling a story that doesn't really require answers or advice. Also, the responses in blogs will show up in reverse order, making it kind of hard to read through them.
To start a discussion, click "Forum" at the top of any page. Hope this helps.

Hi Samantha,
Beth from Lakeview Doodles is in NY and will deliver to Long Island. She is an excellent breeder and completely health tests all her dogs. I have been to her home several times. It is clean and her dogs are very well cared for. Best wishes in your search!
