What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: I have two Labradoodles. Maggie is the oldest and we recently got her half-sister, Luna.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: We originally liked the idea of a low-shedding dog and liked the idea of poodle smarts and a lab personality. We believe we got the best of both breeds in the doodle we have now.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Running, hiking, camping, walking, fetch, cuddling, chasing her to grab the stolen socks out of her mouth.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major, Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: we groom her ourself.

So my boyfriend and our two curly doodle girls recently (as in exactly one week ago) moved 500 miles to the opposite side of the state. We now live in Missoula, MT which is a HUGE Dog-Lover town with numerous areas for hiking that are off-leash areas. Maggie (almost 2 years old) does great off-leash and I really don't worry about her running away. I realized I haven't written in quite some time with an update on Maggie and my new puppy, Luna. Luna is 16 weeks old today and is getting tall and leggy. She's a beautiful little girl. Sadly, I have no updated pictures up here yet, but hopefully will over the weekend. Sorry. But I'm sure those of you with doodle puppies know how much free-time one doesn't have. If there's water in the tub......

......there's a doodle in the tub. Last night I finally had Luna in her crate eating her dinner and then sleeping. I wasn't feeling too good so I decided to take a bath and go to bed early. So I started the bath water and went in the other room to feed the cat. When I returned to the bathroom to check the water I found something in there that I wasn't expecting...a 60 pound Doodle. On January 8th we got a new Labradoodle puppy, Luna, to join our household of Eric (my boyfriend), myself, Maggie our 17 month Labradoodle, and Loki, our cat. We got Luna at 7 weeks old and she is 75% standard poodle, and 25% lab. Maggie is a 50-50 mix. We were both nervous and wondering what we were getting ourselves into. I think everyone who has a doodle in the family would agree with that!! :-) It is difficult to keep my boys exceptionally quiet in the house. Connor is now 2 1/2 yrs and Simon just turned 8 months - Connor outweighs Simon by about 25 lbs.
When Connor was a puppy he learned the term "park it!" It meant go to your bed/pillow and lie down. Often when the guys get too wound up, I tell him to park it. If it starts up again, that's when I use settle. It's tone of voice (quiet, but stern) and hand signal similar to what an umpire in baseball would use for "safe."
When the weather is bad, we go to the family room where it is carpeted and play with a ball or interactive toys. When we go back up to the main living area that has wood floors, that's when they have to settle.
