I realized I haven't written in quite some time with an update on Maggie and my new puppy, Luna. Luna is 16 weeks old today and is getting tall and leggy. She's a beautiful little girl. Sadly, I have no updated pictures up here yet, but hopefully will over the weekend. Sorry. But I'm sure those of you with doodle puppies know how much free-time one doesn't have. When Connor was a puppy he learned the term "park it!" It meant go to your bed/pillow and lie down. Often when the guys get too wound up, I tell him to park it. If it starts up again, that's when I use settle. It's tone of voice (quiet, but stern) and hand signal similar to what an umpire in baseball would use for "safe."
When the weather is bad, we go to the family room where it is carpeted and play with a ball or interactive toys. When we go back up to the main living area that has wood floors, that's when they have to settle.
