To all my friends,
I brought Parker home yesterday from the animal hospital and he appears to be doing much better. He's eating and drinking and not throwing up which is really good. He is on medicine and it appears to be helping him. I can tell you he is glad to be home from the animal hospital. He doesn't like being in a cage.
Thank you for all your prayer and well wishes. It really means a lot to both me and Parker.

To all my doodle friends, I spoke to the vet today and she told me Parker has eaten four times and only threw up once. She is going to keep him over night again just to be safe. I am so happy to hear good news. He's not out of the woods yet but we are slowly getting there. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

To all, Someone told me and paro virus was like a roller coaster; one day the puppy is doing ok and the next day he is lethargic and not eating and drinking. Unfortunately, Parker health declined today and I had to take him back to the vet. He is such a sweet little guy. I prayer and wish he would get better. The vet told me I would have to leave him because he is not doing well. Yesterday, she told me if he got over today without being sick it was a mild case. Today she told me all…

Hi Joni. Great to hear Parker is getting better. I take Gus and Lilly to a groomer at the Companion Care Vet in Mechanicsville. Here name is Wendy. She's was here at St. Charles Animal Hospital in Waldorf, but moved. She's groomer Gus for about 4 years now, and has been the only groomer Lillys had since we adopted her. I did tell her about you and Parker when Gus and Lilly were groomer a couple weeks ago. As for the dog parks. We used to take Gus to the one White Plains Regional park when we first got him, but changed to the Turkey Hill dog park. It's a lot nicer, but you have to bring your own water. The dog park in the White Plains Regional park is mostly dirt and unruly dogs.

Hi Joni, I saw where you posted questions on biting so I thought I would pass this on to you.
We read in the Monks from New Skeet book to apply soft butter (a tiny bit) to your hand and they will kiss (lick) it off and you praise and praise him when they do it....we tried it and guess what, after just 5 times (over a span of a week) she got it. When ever she mouthed us we would say NO kiss and she would. Then she got bored with the whole thing and stopped mouthing and kissing ha ha. You could use a little smear of peanut butter or anything else he would lick off.
Good luck, these puppies are sure trying at times but so worth the work.
Joni, Are you confining Parker to a very small area in the house when he is not crated? We had our family room blocked off so Owen was only permitted an area about 7X7 until he was more reliable with potty training. We very slowly increased that area as he became more dependable. We messed up moving it out too fast and had to reduce it once again. If you are having someone come to watch him tomorrow you may want to work out a very small area of confinement so that he does not wreak havoc throughout the house. Please let us know how it goes.
We will certainly be praying for Parker - poor puppy. I'm sorry you and your pup is going through this it's so hard to see them struggling and sick. (((hugs)))
This is a truly remarkable community of Doodle lovers, many of whom are far more experienced and knowledgeable than I and many of them are passing on that knowledge having made mistakes themselves. There is so much to learn here and the help that is given is beyond words. I do hope that your puppy Parker is doing well today I want you to know that you will only get help and sympathy should you run into any problems later on. Do join any of the groups that you are interested in and post questions however silly they may appear. You have already been through a lot, loosing a dog only a few months ago and now finding yourself with a puppy who has been ill. Puppies are hard work, never mind if they are also unwell. I wish you the very best with Parker and look forward to hearing how you are both getting on.
