I am doing a 10km run tomorrow morning.

It's silly, but it seems such a big thing. before Ruff died I was running marathons, half marathons easy...even a 50km. But I have not run a race since he died in May 2014.

It's a friendly in the park. Race director is my eldest, Emily, who will also be puppy sitter! Hubby is running too, and No 2 daughter is at the water station, so quite a family affair. Only one not there is the boy...who is way too cool, at 18, to hang out at a race!

I have only run 7.5km in training and I did not run at all from May to Christmas. I hope I can get round!

So keep your fingers crossed for me.

Have fun!

Hope you have a great run.

Enjoy, Katie! You will do great- with your distance history your muscles will remember what to do even if you haven't put the mileage in recently.

I believe Ruff will be right there with you in spirit... smiling and enjoying the run.... :-)

You will rock it!!! If you did 7.5 in training, the excitement of the day will carry you the rest. You are an ultra-runner at heart who just needs to get back on the trail!

Hoka is my running partner and I know it would be hard to keep my training up without him.

I did my first 50k last fall and it was such a fun/great feeling day.

Run, Katie, Run! Remember to have fun--it doesn't matter how fast you go, the important thing is to get back out there.

Let us know how it went.

Have fun, and good for you getting back to it!  I'm sure Ruff will be right there with you, happy to see his mom running again!  :)

Good Luck!  I just did my first 5 mile training run of the year.

Good luck! Enjoy the run!

Yes! Did it! 1:04:21

Not a great time in the grand scheme of things but fast for me. I was hoping to do less than 1:10, and rocked it!

The weather was great, cloudy for the first half hour. As soon as the sun came out it got hot quickly, but then a sea breeze started which made things a little cooler. Hubby ran 45:02, and then ran back out along the track and paced me in.

I had a GREAT time! Why did I ever stop running?

Off for a shower now, thank you for your support and encouragement. Such fun to find lots of other runners on this community :)

That's awesome!!!  Way to go!!

Way to go Katie!

Have a wonderful time. I hope Bonnie enjoys the excitement of the race too.
