We are looking for a goldendoodle, and are meeting the AlmondBlossom doodle breeder in Northern Cal this weekend. We have requested references and would like to speak with owners of doodles (and possibly see their dogs) from AlmondBlossom doodles. Due to her concern for her clients privacy, the breeder suggested we contact the doodlekisses website and possibly an owner would contact us.
I also have a doodle from Almond Blossom. He is a "Mini" English Cream, meaning that his mom is an English Golden Retriever, as opposed to an American Golden Retriever. I can also tell you that Shelly & Julie were really great to work with. My husband and I are soo pleased with our Kachi! And yes, each puppy had a profile, and we picked the one whose personality at the time seemed to be the best for for us!
Jim,
I had originally put my deposit down on one of Micah/Lilly's Dec. 2007, and my husband was the one who vetoed it because he did not want me to bring a puppy home in the winter. After that, the more I read, the more I wanted the 'English' because I wanted a cream. Also the English Goldens have boxier heads, and their bodies are more compact, as opposed to the longer, leaner look of the American Goldens. Finally, there is some thought that the English Golden has a more laid back personality than the American, but this I can't be sure of. I can tell you that our puppy is really not all that rambunctious, except when he hears, "Let's go in the car!" or "Want to take a walk?", then you better hope you meant right that minute, because he has a one track mind!! Sorry that was so long winded!
Basically that's the same reason for us. I've heard the European Retrievers are more laid back. I also like the lighter colors but I don't care if it's an Ultra light or not. I actually do like the cream or light tan puppies.
Unfortunately I heard back from Julie yesterday. She's not 100% sure they will have a breeding in the spring due to the economy. I sure hope that's not the case. I finally decided I want to go with Almond Blossom and now I might have to go with somebody else further away. I do have a second choice but they are in Ohio. However after you add the air fare for her pups it comes to the same price as Almond Blossom. Their prices are a little higher than some other breeders.
Good Luck all, I hope to have a pup by summer.

I'm repling to an old post because sometimes I can't reply to your postes. Do you know why? Is it because your listed as private?
Anyway, I did get the info about Almond Blossom having relatives in Indiana but one of my reasons for Almond Blossom was how close they are to us. It's only an hour drive. I was hoping to avoid the flight costs.
The puppy pics are SOOOO cute. I think I'll send them an email and let them know if anybody should back out of the November litter to give me a call.

We want a male, and 5 of the 7 in the litter are males.
According to the web site, yes.
Post a pictures when you get it, i'd love to see some puppy pics from them. I'm just going to hope for the best and maybe they'll breed again.
Who are the parents? Is the female Tula or Estee? That might help me to determin who they'll breed in the summer/spring if they do.
Thanks
Debbie
Debbie,
here are a couple of pictures that I was emailed prior to Kachi coming home to live with us. Tula is mom, Micah is dad. Also, I may have told you this before in a different post (I mentioned it to someone, I think!!), but Tulip Tree Retrievers in Indiana are relatives of Shelly & Julie, and they breed beautiful GD's as well. In fact, Micah is the sire of most med/mini doodles.
Debbie - we saw that on the website too but when I asked her when her next available litter was, she had told me that Tula had more puppies than expected. Maybe it's worth a try asking her?
Good luck!
Jim,
Oh my! Those pictures are soooo adorable! How will you ever choose?! Actually, I know the answer to that question because we were in that spot in April. They are all so precious!! I can't wait to see your photos as they grow!
Karin,
Have you received any email photos of your little baby yet????
Debbie,
We were the same about not wanting to have to ship a puppy home, plus then you have to rely on the breeder to pick for you. And going to pick him/her out is so fun! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you!! Also, thanks for your the heads up on 'blocked' thing, I'm going to check out my page to see what I've done!!
