Need advice on 2 issues - 1) lifting leg & peeing in the house 2)Recovering from being Neutered

Hi All,
Once again I am looking for your advice.
1st - Duffy has learned how to lift his leg when he goes to the bathroom, this would be okay except he is doing this in the house.
2nd - Today he was neutered, I will be picking him up in a few hours.
Is there anything I should know? What should I be prepared for?

I would treat it just like any other potty behavior in the house. Loud NO to catch him off guard...and rush him outside to finish. Might try a belly band too for a while...it's just a piece of cloth that wraps around his belly and covers his boy parts to keep him from peeing indoors.

How's your little guy doing today? I bet now that he is neutered, his 'marking' in the house will end. Also, my Kachi was neutered a few weeks ago, and he was absolutely miserable the first night. He didn't sleep at all. His little tummy where they shaved him, and his incision, itched really badly (obviously, I am speculating), but he would jump, and try to bite at himself, and whimper and whimper. The next morning, I went out and bought doggy aloe-vera cortaid type cream, and this seemed to help him considerably. Other than that little problem, the recovery was really easy for him, but I did keep his e-collar on him until his stitches were removed, just because he's a licker. Good luck!

I hope Duffy is feeling better. Both of our boys recovered very quickly. Just try to keep him quiet.

As for the peeing in the house - I think Adina gave you good advise. Also, the neutering may help. Remember that it does take weeks for the male hormones to get out of his body. So there will not be an instant improvement.

Last night was a little tough but Duffy was doing a little better today.
I just can't wait til the end of the week when I can take the the e-collar off,
He is just so uncomfortable with it on.
