I'm curious...what type of dog would you have gotten if you didn't get a doodle? Or are there other pure breeds you love?
Me? Well...I love athletic short hair breeds like Weimaraners and Pointers. I have also recently been interested in smooth coated Collies and love the big dorky mellow Great Danes. Belgian Malinois are kinda neat looking. And some English Mastiffs are just adorable. Oh and one day I think it would be fun to have a sighthound like a Saluki or Borzoi. Love St. Bernard's but don't ever want the drool. Finally...if I could guarantee I'd get one with a perfect temperament I think I'd like a pit bull. I love how athletic they look and their drive when it is harnessed for good. But I'm still a little afraid of them...
Sara Lee! What a beautiful, beautiful girl. I am so sorry you lost her. I just hate that about our dogs - they die way too soon. I'm glad you have that lovely picture of her to cherish.
Funny how these doodle puppies have such a big girl or big boy bark - that really surprised me at first. Well, Richard with all those dogs you will certainly be alerted to anyone getting close to your house. I think any one with evil intentions would just go find another house without so many alarm sounders!
Our next dog will be a Labradoodle or Standard Poodle only because I need a non shedding dog and I like bigger dogs.
We grew up with a Blue S. Poodle (Dig-a-dee) I was telling my sister on the 4th I wanted an another Blue Poodle and I would name it Dig-a-dee 2.0 (J/K) she said she would steal it from me. LOL
I love the Cream colors of Labradoodle's so if I go with a doodle she/he would probably be cream.
I like the hair wavy hair of the F-1's like Jordan but I also like the fleece coat of Multi-gens too.
My Marley has a 12 year old Schanuzer sister pup named Matty. I have really enjoyed the breed - they are super-smart, athletic build and don't shed (which is key for me...I am practically allergic to breathing!). Her only drawback, and I feel guilty admitting this, is the bark. Yeowza!
I love english setters, german shorthaired pointers, shelties, westies...so many! Also love weimeraners, border collies, huskies... but are aware of some potential behavior and training issues with these breeds. Though now we are doodle people and couldn't imagine shopping for another breed. We'll continue to admire all the other wonderful breeds and visit them at the dogpark, but come home with our doods!
I still LOVE Bull Mastiffs to this day as I had one years ago but my allergies prevent me from having one. I aso LOVE tall std poodles...........okay papillons and bluetick coonhounds are are on the list too. I probably could say I love many breeds as i love almost all dogs.
i would love to cross a poodle with a irish wolfhound!!!!! that would be a great dog for me! dont know if they could beat the doodles personality, though.......... :)
I have three other dogs: a rottweiler, a pug and a dachshund. But I've always wanted a Mastiff. I LOVE dogs. I have also always wanted to have my own wiener dog ranch. I love those little guys!
Hmmmm...other than a doodle?? Didn't know there were such things!! Let's see..I started out wanting a standard poodle and guess that would be a good pick. My friend has a Leonberger and she is just a fabulous doggie, but too big and too strong and too hairy. Maybe a Portuguese water dog or a Wheaten terrier, but they might be too energetic. Ozzie is not liking watching me write this. He doesn't need to worry. He is my only dog!!
