Hi guys! So Loki is a chewer, this is nothing new it's just his "quirk" persay, he doesn't dumpster dive or counter surf but he goes though chewy toys like crazy! Lately he has been playing with a toy and is accidentally. Hewing whatever is around it. Examples being the blanket under the toy the corner of the couch the toy was next you or the bit of carpet under the toy or the baseboard that the you rolled into. So far it has been nothing major- or damage that isn't repairable and while frustrating nothing beyond normal puppy chewing that I almost expected. He always has a good supply of toys on hand so there's always something he can occupy himself with. I do need help though because I'm not sure what to do, I know it's incidental, if I have recently sprayed the bitter apple over basically everything he is fine but that seems a bit extreme in my mind, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Gracie does the same. We just keep a super good eye on her and I move her toys while she's chewing if it's close to something else. We have carpet in the living room and I will catch her chewing on that while chewing on her toy. I just try to adjust her so that she's not tempted to keep chewing the carpet.
Sometimes she licks something first, then I just say no and give her a toy and say here you go this is for you (or something cheerful).
I think keeping an eye and moving things out of harms way is best.
