Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
***I have re-opened this discussion******
Please feel free to comment as again there are blog posts that are blurring the line between advertising and legit blogs.
With all due respect to our member breeders.
As I read Forum Posts and Blogs I am finding more and more discussions started by "breeders" that are really just touting their breeding program or showcasing their newest litters. Many of these people's only contributions to this forum are these postings.
There are places on this forum for this, please use them.
There are many wonderful breeders that are regular contributors, this is not meant to discourage them from continueing to add their valuable insite.
I have closed this discussion - as Clark's thread appropriately follows up on the points raised here.
Thanks for your input.
Please see Clark's discussion about community guidelines:

I agree. Posting blogs about puppies and litters seems like a sneaky way to get past the DK Guidelines against breeders advertising in the forums.
I would also add that a couple of people who are not breeders (but are professional bloggers) seem to use DK as a means of advertising products and services in their blogs on a very frequent basis. Their blogs read like ad copy, and frequently include links to product and service websites. These people do not participate in any of our discussions, acitvities, or groups here and never comment on other people's blogs or even say "I'm sorry" when someone posts a tragedy. I know we don't have to read the blogs, but they do take up space on the main page and push down the blogs of other people who are regular contributing members of our DK community. I personally am very annoyed by this, and judging by the messages I have received from other DK members, I am not the only one who is annoyed. Plus, I really resent that someone may be making a profit from using this site when it costs Adina money to maintain it, and many other members are contributing financially.
Amen.
Certainly, agree with this...
Yep.
I'm glad you clarified this, Andy. I've so enjoyed watching Ginny's litters from birth until they went to their new homes. She is a regular DKer who has been helpful to many of us with her advice and support. I think that differentiates her from breeders you are referring to here. She's just one, there clearly are others too who are "regulars" and very helpful members of this community.
I agree with this too, Jane!!
LOL, nobody who has reached HDA status could be accused of just using DK to advertise! Ginny is a valuable contributing member and friend!
Amen.
Love Ginny!
Thank you for this post. I have to agree with Karen and I know it bothers me when people, who never take one minute to read any other post or discussion, or join in in any way, or take the time to get to know any members on DK, post advertisements, etc. as a means to get you to go to that link or another blog site. The sad thing is they won't even click on this discussion and read our thoughts. DK deserves better!
Particularly when they are pushing products from major corporations, some of which are known to be dangerous for dogs.
And links to the websites of people with whom they have business/personal relationships.
I agree with the concerns being expressed here--it is more than a little discouraging to see some of these types of discussions posted by people who have clearly not paid any attention to the conversation going on here and the wisdom and science-based information our members are sharing.
But I do have a semi-related question: I have noticed that, in my own posts, if I mention a corporate name, like Target, for example, a link is created automatically when I post the comment. I often create links in my posts to articles, specific products, etc., but, if I'm mentioning a company, I rarely create the link by hand--it just seems to show up on its own.
Has anyone else noticed this or does anyone know the reason for it? Or am I just nuts? *^_^*
Edit: Okay, so it didn't happen with Target. I'll try Orvis and see if that links.
Edit 2: Maybe I am nuts, because I can't seem to make it happen again!
