We had torrential rain all night and now it's merely raining. The electricity just wavered but remained on. No trees down although I heard things hitting the roof. The basement has a couple of inches of water. They say the rivers will crest and flood in the coming days. The reverse 911 warned us to stay off town roads which are flooded. It could have been much worse here and I hope everyone fared as well.

My biggest fear was getting the dogs out but Luca decided that about 5:30 pm last night was enough til 10:30 today. Then he was carrying on around the shed where the woodchucks live. Could they have climbed up inside or on the vines? I'm sure the burrow is flooded and he was barking towards the roof of the shed. I had to "lasso" him and bring him in. I was afraid he could get into the brook if the fence was weakened.

The brook behind my house is a raging torrent with white water. In places the yard slants, thankfully, toward the brook and I felt water running through my crocs. Let us know how you are when you can.

WOW!
Wow that's wet! It could be worse right?
Glad you're safe, F, and hoping all of our other friends in the NE are okay.
Having another downpour here and the water just went over the road in front of the house--have only seen that once before. Hopefully, the road will not wash out--that means about 40 minutes of extra rain--the water is VERY high now and gushing over the road.
Oh, good luck!
That's worrying us here too.  We only have one road in and out of here and if the rain doesn't stop very soon, there will be no access.  Keep us posted.
Oh, Ginny and Jane--stay safe!
Does anyone know about Delaware? I'm very worried about one of our fosters there, they are older and have three of their own dogs plus the foster.
No, but I suppose it matters how near the coast they are and so many other factors.
Glad to hear folks are safe, so far.  We're all praying for you and hoping the deluge will end soon!
One of the fosters is in Brick, and did make plans in advance to evacuate before the storm hit. Imagine having to take your own dogs plus a foster to a hotel!
Glad to hear you guys are OK and hanging in there.  I hope the electricity stays on throughout.  Please keep posting updates.
