Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So people were talking about what they did to that doodle to make him look like the lion, and on another Labradoodle website someone posted this link to a bunch of poodle cuts and OMD I died. The last one killed me the most. So take a gander.

I have seen this before--it is wild! I feel sorry for the poor poodles though--they have to stand for HOURS on a grooming table...
Do they stand considerably more than show poodles normally have to stand for grooming and all that? Do they get any pee breaks or sitting breaks at all?
I'm sorry but those images make me feel slightly nauseous. Something really horrible and I feel the same as when I see those little girls in those 'beauty contests'/pageants in make up etc. Do hope I'm not offending anyone though.
I'm not offended, but I would say the little girl beauty pageants are wrong on so many levels. For a dog silly hair dye is only requires a lot of standing around--so at worst it's a little physically trying. For a little girl it skews her whole life view and self perception and on and on. I don't think there is any psychological change for a poodle. Remember that their show dog hair cuts and grooming often require extended time too. I think most show dogs are used to it and don't mind the attention all that much.
I think by that logic it's disrespectful to put a dog in a Halloween costume, un needed sweater or girly collar if it's a boy dog. It's Anthropomorphism, we only think a dog would be embarrassed or disrespected by it. But why would they?
I feel the same Sandy! That is just not right and the dogs obviously have no say in the whole project! I feel sad for the dogs to say the least.
I agree. I wouldn't do it to my dog because that look is not at all my thing. And I do think there are good groomers and bad, just like everything else. But I personally know a creative groomer who does this with her own dog. She uses completely safe dies, does it in segments that are no longer than a regular grooming session, and her dog loves it. She's a Standard Poodle named Daisy and she loves loves being groomed and going to shows. :-) I think it's silly but if done right harmless and the dogs can really enjoy it.
I agree with you Nicky.
Um, I have no words, and that's a first.
I always thought the square poodle picture was hysterical!
I tried. Don't tell anyone
