Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've been gone a bit with the busyness of the holidays and I've missed DK and its members! Does anyone have any cute, funny, or sweet stories to share about your doodles?

We've had a cold snap here with a few days staying below freezing temps so our boys have only gone out to potty and then back it. We have a pretty spirited crew with 4 males, with 3 of them being young. So they all have cabin fever. Jake took it upon himself on one of these "boring" in house days to create some fun by stealing a plastic ball ornament and playing keep away from the humans for a few hours. He never chewed it, just made my hubby get his exercise by running up and down the stairs. In the end jake just dropped it in his lap when he was done with the game.
Brisby refuses to go potty outside if there is even a hint of precipitation in the air (lucky for him we live in the desert!). On the day we had snow flurries for about 7 hrs Brisby had doodle iron bladder until he felt it was safe to "Let it go" (and I'm being generous even using the word flurries, it was more like flurry...wait 20 min then another flurry). Pickles, at just over 1 year, is a crazy teenager who wants to be apart of the action, any action whether it's dog play or my son's exuberance over video games.
And Mac just hangs out, happy to be in a warm house laying on the couch. He finally maintains eye contact and looks at all of us like we are crazy. Which we are.

Hope your 2015 is off to a great start!

I attached a picture of Mac just chilling out but I'm on my iPad so I couldn't embed it in my post.
Happy New yYear to you all.

Love hearing updates on your pack! And I'm so glad to hear how well Mac is doing! Happy New Year to all of you!

Happy New Year!  I laughed when I read, "Brisby refused to go potty outside if there is even a hint of precipitation."  That's so like my Chance.  I swear that his bladder capacity doubles when it is raining outside.

Hi Jenn ~ here is your cute photo of Mac.  I can see he is loving his new home!  Happy New Year!

Happy new year!  Aw, I think Mac looks so much like Eloise!  I'm so glad to hear he's progressing so well - he looks so totally relaxed and happy.  :)  I laughed at the Brisby potty comment, too.  Beasley refuses to go #2 even when the grass is wet after the rain.  She just stands there and stares at me, with this "what the heck" look on her face.

Two Charlie moments, both involving Christmas presents. I still think pet Christmas gifts are more for the owners than the dogs, but Charlie did enjoy his.

We opened the box for him with three chew-resistant non-stuffed squeaky dragons in it and told Charlie they were his (he seemed to know what that meant). He would take one out of the box, bolt into the other room to hide it in a safe space, come sliding back where we were, grab another out of the box, and repeat.

The second was with a rawhide chew we gave him to keep him busy one night. He doesn't chew, he hides them. He would pace at a trot around the house, trying to find the perfect place. It would end up artfully hidden in a nest in the Christmas tree skirt, under the pillows on the couch (he would put them back!!), under his bed, behind the laundry basket. It was funny because I could stand up, ask him where it was, and wander around the house a little bit- and he would follow, until I was "warm"... and then he would just stare at the hiding place. So, I would pick it out, hand it back to him, and he'd start the process all over again. That lasted for a few evenings. And even now, it's just starting to get old :

That's hilarious!!!
