It's been a wet (and cold for us) winter and I'll sure be gald to see the end of it! Just won't miss having to hose off the dirty paws most every time Toby goes out. Last week we had another dog visit which was wonderful but Toby had black "boots" up to his elbows! I should have taken a picture. He is very good about the routine however, trotting right over to the hose area waiting to get his feet washed off then towel dried.
We too are totally ready for spring and dry weather. The puppies have torn up the front and back yard with all the wet weather he have had. I think we might have to sod. My husband says... why bother? they will just tear it up again! UGH.
We let them out and then let them sit in the garage on a rug/blankets for 15 or 20 minutes before we bring them in the house. We have laminate flooring thank goodness.
We lucked out since we had snow on the ground the entire month of Feb so our doodles would just come in wet (but clean). March has been a different story. While I'm very grateful for the warm weather, the doodles are a mess everytime they come in. We even have to wash them after a walk!
I can't wait until it is warm enough to bring out our hose so we can clean them off outside!
Kathleen and Jerry found a "paw plunger" at Orvis in short pump. It's a large cup with a top and soft brushes, just fill it with warm water, put your pets paw in it and move it up and down. Works great and you just towel off your pet's paw. We use ours often.
