Are dogs a likely source for bed bugs?

Wondering if Parker is a likely culprit to bring in bed bugs to the house?(Other than him being a giant bed bug himself) Anyone know about this stuff?

UPDATE: Bug guy came for a second time today...we have been sleeping on the sofa bed for over a week because I knew he had to come back which to me meant they weren't all dead! I was working when he came today so my landlord/cousin came to meet the guy instead and according to her, he said he didn't see any signs of anymore bugs, and sprayed a LITTLE more...I asked for them to spray near my wooden desk since they like wood and it isn't far from the bedroom (I don't think he did spray by the desk which makes me kind of mad!) and then my cousin says that the guy said we might see a couple stragglers as they die and come out of hiding...

I come home thinking we were going to sleep in the real bed tonight, so I washed the new sheets and got everything on the bed and as I am doing this, I see 2 bugs crawling up the wall! I kill them and look around and find 3 more! SHOOT ME! I changed my mind about the bed...still out on the sofa bed...I read that bedbugs cause mental problems and insomnia...I can UNDERSTAND why...I feel like I have those mental problems myself now because of them! I want to move!

As you can see...Parker has no issues with the sofa bed...my back on the other hand feels otherwise!

Yah i guess they do this in "phases" so he sprayed once and then comes back in a week to see. He said we could go back to sleeping in the bedroom but i would prefer the sofa bed for now! Our new bed frame and box spring come on tuesday but I dont even wanna set that up then until he's come again!

I am going crazy itching while reading this. I have a fear of lice, ticks, fleas and bedbugs as just the word sends $$$$ signs and EXTRA WORK thoughts going through my mind. The bugs don't scare me as much as what it means to get rid of them does. I feel for you. Bella had fleas once and I was a NUT for months. Probably vacuumed 2-3 times a days for 6 months.

Yah it's work I don;t have time for and money we DEFINITELY don't have...the money we are spending on this, just took the money we need to pay our wedding photographer....need to be put out of my misery!

Katie, keep us updated on the progress of the "Killing of the bugs saga."  What I don't get is that if they don't respond to regular pesticides so you need a professional, how can any product from Bed, Bath and Beyond help prevent you from having them hitchhike home in your luggage or clothes?

In theory, the product could repel them but would not kill them if they are already in your home. Whether it really works to repel them is anybody's guess.

Thanks F.  I guess I will use that and GBK's suggestion to keep the luggage in the bathtub.  Now I know why I prefer my RV.

I think the spray from bed bath and beyond is something to repel...not kill once you get them...it's a preventative measure. I can't say that it works for sure but it's better than nothing. I got this "fairytale" spray to repel lice and so far I haven't gotten lice even though I have been in schools that had 30+ cases of lice! lol so I will try something that might prevent us from ever getting these bugs again!

FYI, lice like younger hair (kids over adults), unprocessed hair (not perms, dyes etc.) so just color your hair and you are good to go! :-}  Neither my DH nor I ever got lice though we worked in the schools forever.  However my DIL got them (from???)  and it was no fun picking nits out of her Asian/Italian hair.

OMD!!! I watched a special on TV last night about bedbug invasions.  It was so bad the lady finally moved her family outside to a tent.  The bedbugs were finally eradicated  by  heat application. Yay!
