Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

As many of you know, in past years, Doodle Rescue Collective has typically presented our year in review, "Home 4 the Holidays", happy tales slideshow between the week of Christmas and New Years.

But this year we thought we'd try something a little different and appreciate your patience with us while we were putting this all together.

As we begin 2013, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your friendship, your dedication to these dogs and to our cause, for your unwavering support and generosity of spirit, and for continuing to be a tremendous part of our doodle rescue family.

We couldn't do what we do without all of you.

Without further adieu, please enjoy our "DRC 2012 Happy Tales" slideshow!

Beautiful, perfect. Congratulations to the doodles and their new families, and you are all amazing, wonderful people!!!

I just put make-up on so I will have to wait and watch when I get home from work with a tea and a box of Kleenex.

WOW.  I sob like a baby through the "Happy Tails" slide show;  every year, the same thing.  I love seeing the Doodles that we have read about through the year, their happy families and the before and after pictures.   I hope some day there will not be any Doodles from a high kill shelter in North Carolina...or from any high kill shelter for that matter.

These slide shows are so heartwarming. Great job you do saving these dogs and creating happy endings.

This is amazing and yes, tissues ARE required!!   Our Bender was rehomed through DRC and I will NEVER find the right words to say "thank you" and to let you know how wonderful the DRC is.

Thank you so much for watching and for all of your wonderful comments! It made our day here at Casa del Doodle. Jeannine Smith did an awesome job putting this all together! Didn't she?..... It's a labor of love for us all.

This year we wanted to keep the time under 30 minutes so that we can actually get it up on Youtube. But it's tough to do with so many Happy Tales and happy events to share thanks to all of you!

Anyway, we hope you all continue to enjoy the show and apologies again for the delay. It literally took months just to narrow down the photos and the music in between all of the other daily rescue and organizational activities.....What can I say other than there are not enough hours in a day!....: )

Special thanks to our dear friend Lorenzo Crescibene at Luna Sound in North Caldwell, NJ for assisting us with the music editing and mixing....

OH MY DOODLE!  This is the most beautiful and heart warming video I have EVER watched.  I cried throughout the entire video and so thankful they have found loving, caring, and special homes.  Thank you DRC and everyone invloved including the families that adopted a Doodle, you are all truly amazing!  EACH and everyone of those Doodles are precious and so deserve a loving home.  The music you played was so wonderful and perfect for these Doodles!

WOW! I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes when the show was done.  I'm new to DK and didn't realize there was a DRC or that so many doodles ended up in shelters.  I now need to do some reasearch about doodle rescue in my state of Michigan!  When I take my GD's places and people ask me about them I love to share how wonderful they are but I also make sure the people know how much hair care is involved, the training we've done, and the care I took to find responsible breeders. People have many misconceptions about doodles (I had them too before getting my first dood), so I feel responsible to share the wonderful and not so wonderful reality of owning a doodle.  I just can't immagine life without doodles!!

Cathy, the DRC is nationwide, and in fact our placement director, who is also a DK member, lives in Michigan. Volunteers are always needed everywhere, and there are lots of things people can do besides fostering to help out!

This is exactly what I hope everyone will take away from this; when you talk about your doodle to others, make sure that the information you give does not contribute to the misconceptions and myths out there, or to another doodles ending up in rescue. Thanks for helping!

Karen, thank you for letting me know about DRC in Michigan.  I will definately check into it!

One thing that is often needed in Michigan is people to transport dogs from shelters to foster homes. We have had a number of dogs that needed to be pulled from the Gladwin shelter; here's one of my favorite blogs ever about how our own Suzann (Rosey and Bandit) pulled a wonderful goldendoodle for te DRC and gave him a chance at a new life:My Friend Gladwyn

We have had wonderful DK members who have helped out with transport all over the country. People to do home visits of prospective adopters are often needed as well.

Karen, do you have info on a forever home for Gladwin, I can't remember.
