Hi everyone! This is my first post, although I am on the site daily. Lily has been dealing with a stomach bug. She had vomited and could not hold down food or water all day so we took her to our emergency vet. We had xrays done to rule out a foreign object. She was feeling much better today, although she is still a little lethargic. I took her outside to go potty, (we live on the first floor of an apartment), and out of nowhere a 75lb roll of carpet came flying from the third floor window and landed on my poor Lily. I reported the incident and called our vet for signs I should be aware of in case of concussion. I don't think she was injured, she is walking/running around just fine. But now she is terrified to go outside. I'm sure when all of her doggy playmates come out for a nightly romp she will perk up. I just had to share her misfortune, hopefully she will not be afraid of the accident site for too long! Thanks for listening!

What an awful thing. I would think Lily may be wary of being outside for some time. I'm glad Liliy seems OK.

That is truly awful bad luck poor Lily to have that happen. Very good to know she wasn't physically injured at least. I do hope she gets over her fear about going out.

Careless neighbor!  I hope they were at least kind enough to apologize.  Hope Lily is over this quickly.

Oh my goodness...poor little sweetheart...I am so sorry for her not feeling well and then on top of that her misfortune with the roll of carpet...how insensitive of the person to just throw a roll of carpet out the window...could have really hurt someone...and fortunately Lily seems to be okay...must have a special guardian angel watching over her...feel better real soon Lily...thinking of you Jennifer!

Poor little thing, it's no wonder she is wary of going outside. Do people not look before they toss stuff out of the window? I do hope she is fine and with no lasting effects.

Good grief!  Hope she remains well.  What a goofy thing to have happen and what a dumb neighbor or installer!

Thank goodness she is walking ok, poor baby. I'm so sorry to hear this. Hope she perks up to play tonight!

This could have had just a horrible outcome! I would take her outside with lots of treats and slowly bring her near the accident site, treating heavily as you get closer. Maybe if she associates a positive experience with the area, it will wipe out the negative one. So glad she is ok. And that is really bad luck!

I am so sorry this happened Jennifer and hope Lily is ok.  Poor little girl, she must have been so scared, not to mention you!  I would keep a close watch on her.

Update!
Lily is back to her normal self. Asking for treats and to play with her favorite toy, the laser pointer. She is cautious of the area where the carpet fell on her, but not too scared. I'm going to keep an eye on her, but I think we got lucky with no injuries. I will be filing an incident report tomorrow and following up with management. I don't want this to happen to anyone else!

be careful with the laser pointer-don't want that to be the next accident!

I am glad she is better.
