I'm just wondering if this calls for a little panic, or a whole lot of over the top rush to the vet panic.

Sophie was really rambunctious and running around jumping off the furniture and what not. Worried about my neighbour in the apartment below me knocking on the door I put her in the crate to settle down a bit. She was pretty annoyed that she was in her crate and started banging on the door to be let out. I ignored her because that is not how I want her to think she cana get my attention.

There was a little hard plastic bowl in her crate from this morning (I sometimes give her a little bit of yogurt and some cranberry powder mixed in).  Anyway, I was sitting at my comptuer and heard 'crunch crunch crunch'. I jumped up and went to investigate and found this:

I tried to fit all the pieces back into place but there are pieces missing that are now presumably in Sophie's tummy. The plastic is hard and jagged.

So how much should I be panicking right now??? Because I'm really scared that this will cause damage. What do I do???

Give it a little time though. No need to panic since no one is going after them unless they cause a problem.

You may recall the diaper-eating incident with Owen. The first sign of the diaper wasn't until 2 days later and the largest deposit wasn't made for at least 10 days. ARRGH! What these doodles put us through! Hoping Sophie passes those shards soon.

I'm glad she is doing well! The vaseline and peanut butter sandwich must have helped :) Ollie would look at me like I'm crazy if I tried to give him that...maybe for the peanut butter he would go for it. I would have freaked out too. I freak out if he just acts tired.

Just saw this post and I am so glad Sophie is fine. It is very scary to think what could be going on in their bellies and intestines with stuff like this. I have become much more relaxed about this kind of stuff now that I have seen what Bella can ingest and put out the other end whole.  I;m still waiting for a 3in plastic ball to show up, but it's been about a month, so I have no clue what it must be doing still inside her. Again, she is the reason we now have Pet insurance.  Good thing you were home though, as she could have really done some damage if she continued her little snack.

over reacting is normal, we all do it!

Enjoy sifting through the poop your lunch break!

One of my labs got into the trash and ate the plastic wrap from a frozen Popsicle tube.   It was 8 days until he threw it up.  Long after

Anxiously awaiting the end results.

Nothing to report at lunch time, except to say my bath mat was somehow in the living room, but unharmed. ;-) I'm packing up the doodles for a week-end away with family. I'll have to look up vet clinic info where I'm going and along the way. What a busy day I'm having! I totally spaced my lawyer appointment because of all this doodle commotion.

No doubt Sophie put it there in case she needed to go in a hurry. What a thoughtful girl. I am hoping you have an uneventful weekend except in the poop department.

I should have left it there as it was placed in the exact spot that Winston pooped this afternoon. Why couldn't he just go at lunch time when I was pestering him??? he has never done this before.

No doubt he wasn't feeling well and couldn't help himself. But although, believe or not, my dogs have never pooped in their crates, this is why I love crating dogs when I'm not home. Of course, I'm lucky enough to be home a lot and your dogs would have to spend much more time crated.

Oh Dear Sophie!!! hope it all comes out OK. Keep us posted.
