Bored?

[Taylor & Huff]

Huff seems to always be bored. When we are at the the shop,  he sleeps because most of the time we are too busy to play with him. We can't walk him because he goes to the shop everyday and I am hardly allowed outside by myself and my parents are too busy. We come home pretty late and have dinner around 9pm. He sleeps before dinner, plays a little after dinner, sleeps, then he goes to bed. I think he sleeps too much. He never used to be like this before. Is he just getting old? He is only 1 and 1/2 years old. He has been like this for a while. Do you think he is sick? He still eats and does everything else normally. Is he just in the doodle doldrums? What can we do to help? I don't want to have to adopt him out......

Most of those balls are noisy, can he use it on carpet? Guess nothings perfect!

Ya:) He likes to corner the ball and bark at it (at least he did when he was a puppy) I like the Kong genius because it is not noisy and it keeps him pretty interested.

hahaha:) You are funny.:) I guess you are right. I always talk to him but not for a long time. Sometimes I make up a conversation with him. I make up a conversation with him at least once a day. Last night, we got him one of those Kong Genius toys. You know the one that you can keep adding parts to? Well, he loves it.:) I think that the night I wrote this discussion, he was looking pretty sad but maybe he was just tired. He seems happier and less lethargic today and yesterday. Huff was my first dog, so I guess I am a worrywart. He is chasing his tennis ball now:)

I just thought of something.  Does your family have a tread mill?  If so you could train Huff to use that.

With the snow and cold we have here in Ohio my doodles are so bored.

Honestly though, I think Huff Just wants to be with you  :)     A dog's People are more important than anything.  He just wants to be with you.

When you are done training Huff on the treadmill, send him over to my house to train me to use my treadmill. It is collecting dust in my basement :) I think it is just harder in the winter to get out and want to do stuff. I agree with Joanne...he just wants to be with you and your family.

I think that as long as he gets 2  good walks a day he will be fine. It sounds like you take him to the shop (work?) with you? Which is great!!!

 

Make sure he gets enough exercise and he sounds like one content doodle =)

Ya, he is our grooming shop's mascot. He sometimes takes a day off but he hasn't had one lately. We were thinking he might need a day off. He doesn't get enough exercise, I have to start walking him more:)

Huff has been pretty active today. I think he was just tired that day because I gave him a bath. haha:) Thanks for all your help!:)
