Finally, after two agonizingly long years of unemployment, my DH was offered a postion in Boston! I am going home to the East coast, a dream I have had since we moved to MN. Nothing against MN, but I missed my friends and the coast terribly. He leaves soon and I will remain here with the children to sell the house--so not looking forward to that invasion of privacy but a necessary evil and my eye is on the prize.
So, all you Bostonians, we need to be close (less than 20 miles) to Boston center and I was wondering if you might have any suggestions about great towns for us to look into. So far, at least on the internet, I am looking at Hull, Lynn, Malden and Hingham. I am researching Catholic schools and, of course, I need a great vet, too. Of all the things to miss about MN, I will be losing an amazing vet/grooming/boarding group. :(
Thanks to all who listened to me bemoan our plight over the past two years. I appreciate the support!

My son lives in Boston. He started out on Beacon Street in the Back Bay, bought first Condo in Brookline, then bought a house in Needham for first baby and now four kids later they live in Dover in a huge house with lots of land. Needham is just 3 minutes away and has a Catholic School. Dover doesn't have much of a town so Needham is the closest. But, Wellsley, Newton, Westwood and Dedham are all close by. These are all little old suburb communities. That is pretty much the only areas I know of since I live in California. I do love Boston and all of those beautiful New England towns! Good luck!
Don't have any advice just want to wish you all the luck in the world with the move.
Thanks for your kindness!
Congratulations on the new employment!! Hopefully your house will sell quickly and you can soon get settled into your new Boston life. I've only been to Boston once, so I have no advice whatsoever!!
Congratulations! I hope everything goes smoothly with the sale, move, etc., and you love living on the East Coast!
Couldn't find a MA or Boston Group, but did find the New England Doodles Group
I think you need to find out which area has the most doodles and that way you will know which area of town has the nicest people. That's where you need to live! Congrats! I'm so excited for you.
Ha good one Sherri!
Congratulations! I am in a similar position, but still waiting for the job offer!!!! Wishing you all the best!
Wow, congrats! How exciting for your family!
Congratulations!! One of my sons went to school in Waltham and I liked it there but I don't know all that much about it. How exciting for you.
Congratulations on DH's new job and congrats to you getting to move to a place you want.
