I am writing to let everyone know that my family is safe and sound, and I am hoping that the same is true for all of my DK friends from the area.

What a horrific day for our beautiful city and another devastating event for our nation.  My thoughts go out to everyone who is injured or afraid.

I'm glad that you're safe. I too am hoping that all DKers and their friends and families are safe.

My son was a resident at the Brigham.  God bless all the first responders, docs, runners and bystanders who ran to the injured to help.  God bless everyone at the Brigham and Mass General who've worked so hard to save lives.

I just heard that Mile 26 was dedicated to the victims of Sandy Hook.  If that's true, what a horrific piece of irony.

May justice rain down on whoever did this!!

I read this morning in the Boston Globe that family members of Sandy Hook victims were at the finish line tent because the theme was 26 miles for 26 victims. If that is true, how doubly horrible for these poor people who are still recovering from their own trauma and deaths.

Another unspeakable tragedy.  I am glad you and your family are safe.

What a horrific day....i remember back in november the threats i was receiving from "Friends" that they would spit on me or push me because they thought how could i run the marathon after the hurricaine (Sandy) It was such an emotional time for me. And when the marathon was canceled i was actually relieved. That fear of "spit" just turned into so much more yesterday. Now i have to worry about my life! And my friend Carey was there running 25.5 miles into it when thank god she was diverted and told the race had been canceled. Had she run just 20 minutes faster and she might have been right at the finish. I refreshed my facebook page as i was getting updates of her mileage....i was so happy when i saw she passed the 40k mark! I commented on a friends thread "any minute now!" just anxiously awaiting her finish time post. And then i start to see the in-pouring of bomb posts. I went home to my doodle and cried last night. He was a good boy and stayed close and cuddled. Just so sad for those innocent people who lost their lives and to those who are wounded. UGH! Glad to read of all the Bostonians who are safe and sound!

So glad you and your family are safe. It is just horrible and it makes me sick and so very sad.  No sense to it at all and these people are heartless and evil.
