Stuart in his bed
Beamer - Stuart's full brother lives in Marietta, GA and one of these days when I take Rooney and Stuart to visit dd, we are going to get together with Beamer and his mom Jo. I'm excited to see if they remember each other. Jo just put some new pictures on DK of Beamer and it is so weird to see my Stuart in her house or yard - that is how identical they two look. Dh and I can't believe it and we think once we put the two of them together that it is going to be very hard to tell them apart. From everything that Jo tells me - I think they weight the same. Is it possible for there to be twins within a litter? Does it happen often that two puppies from the same litter look identical. I'll try to post a few pictures here you so that you can see. Jo - if you read this add some of Beamer!

No Beamer pic here either - I see your caption, then the spot where the picture should be with that nasty little "?"
I know it is possible for dogs in the same liter to have different father dogs.... Why wouldn't twins be possible? But wait if all the dogs in the liter have the same mom/dad to begin with wouldn't that make them all twins of somesort? That kind of makes a doggie-octomom theory. But why wouldn't it be possible for a dogs egg to split and have identical twins? Hunter has a brother, Oliver that I will post pictures of - just like Beamer and Stuart you can't tell the difference.....
They look like they could be twins for sure!
Stuart looks a bit older in HIS picture by the pool than Beemer, but HOLY COW!
How 'bout these two???? did some photo searcing when your's didn't come up..... OMD! THEY DO LOOK LIKE TWINS!
Beemer:
I just looked it up. There can be fraternal twins in a litter but there is no evidence that identical twins exist in dogs.
I just found this article online about identical twins in dogs -
http://www.ashgi.org/color/twins.htm
I have to think that identical twins do exist in dogs.... looking at Beamer and Stuart and now look a this picture of Hunter and her brother Oliver. Can you tell who is who?
Identically adorable!
WOW! Same pose as they sit too! Too funny! i do feel that dogs from the same parents - same litter or not... do possess many of the same characteristics - both physically and behaviorally as well..... Tori's brother different coloring, (who I found on DK) does look very much like Tori and shares many of the same personality traits as well... and they are from tow different litters - months apart.. I just love genetics!
I really think identical twins should be possible in dogs but I guess one would need to have at least some DNA confirmed cases.
