Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
With the holidays approaching I am looking for non-destructable chew toys (or toys to play with) for my mouthy doodle.
My doodle guy loves toys but they are destroyed within minutes and the squeakers and everything else in his tummy. I seem to be limited to an indestructable Kong which has been through 3 German shepherds and still remains in tact. He does like antlers and that has worked but even the other toys with ropes attached are shredded.
My last dog was an English Setter and he was so careful with his toys which he would carry around and he would even use the larger ones for a pillow.

Thanks Sandy (and Hattie)--
I will order ASAP--looks really good--
anything connected to a rope goes fast with the rope shredded and don't like the idea of pieces getting tangled inside. The rope gets shorter and shorter as I cut off pieces!
What's a Yak Chew?
I have never bought one of these, but will give it a try. Is there anything specific you look for when buying them? I see they come in different sizes, are there different flavors, etc? Thanks
I had the same questions--
have you ever had a problem with an upset stomach with any of the flavors?
or swallowing a large piece which my dog is want to do.
they sound really interesting--lime and milk interesting combination--
got the squawkie talkie chicken yesterday and he won't put it down. He was a little afraid of it at first--but now he runs and shakes it and makes it squawk. My husband a little leary at first with the awful noise but we have never seen him enjoy a toy more.
Not sure how long it will be before he rips into it, but so far we are doing fine. He is now totally worn out with playing with it. We put it in my husband's study and he sat at the door waiting for it to come out and play.
Darwin really enjoyed the classic red Kong and it was one of the only toys he was not able to destroy. It's really great because we can also stuff it with peanut butter and yogurt frozen, it will occupy him for an hour or so. He also enjoys the hard nylabone (we don't get him the gummy ones, only the super hard ones). He has had this one for over a year and it's still completely intact with just a few teeth marks

We use the kong with peanut butter on occasion but will add that nylabone, it does look like a good one.
Poor Rooney was so gentle and nice to his toys - then we got Stuart!!! LOL Now no nice stuffies or cute toys - Stuart kills them in 5 minutes or less.
I know exactly what you mean --I had the English setter who had the same toys all his life--she played with them but never hurt them--not so with Nicholas.
Stanlee has had the Jolly Pets Romp-and-Roll for.......drum roll please.......FOUR MONTHS!!!
It is the only toy so far he has not destroyed in a day or two. http://www.dogtoysdirect.com/cat-jolly-pet-dog-toys1.cfm
I took a look at the Romp-and-Roll toy and discovered that they sell one of Wally's favorite toys, too. We have a couple of the Monster Mouths and I often tuck treats inside. He can chew and chew on them and never make a dent in the rubber. We use them to play fetch, too, and are fun, because they bounce around in an unpredictable way due to their shape. I might go ahead and buy one of the Romp-and-Rolls; thanks for the suggestion, Marnie!
I saw those teeth and wondered about them--looks like a good choice for Nick too.
