I have vinyl and wood and tile floors that go on fooorever..........  I hate to wash floors.  No more knees on the floors like I have done, cant /wont do it anymore. The mop and bucket,..........UGH!  The swiffer thing is ok, but only for a tiny little area.  I have finally found my calling.  Steam cleaners.  Holy cow, this has totally rocked my world (dont say anything about how sad this is).

omg, today i tried my new floor steamer.  WOW!  I literally ripped thru the house cleaning the kitchen, hall and laundry room under 15 minutes.  it dries nearly instantly.  i was so out of control i went to the living room to try out the wood floor.  holy cow, awesome, did the steps, onto the bathroom with white floor.  The only floor left is the family room.  amazing.  a tiny amount of water is all that is used, you merely push it across the floor, NO SCRUBBING, NO RUBBING.  when the pad is dirty you turn it upside down, and i have another one after that.  you positively owe it to yourself to own one of these.  no more buckets of water and and hands and knees.  the steam kills bacteria too!

Steam Cleaners are the way to go!!!! I had mine for about a year now, with 2 doodles my floors get quite dirty. I do the hands and knees floor washing about once a month to get the woodwork etc. but for regular cleaning the steam is the way to go. I Love my steamer ;)
They do clean pretty well but please don't make the same mistake we did. Wood and laminate hate steam cleaners. It seemed to clean them well but it completely ruined our floors. Don't believe the manufacturer or advertisements. It will ruin the wood floor.
I have been using mine on my hardwood floor for a little over a year without issue on my newer sealed wood floors.  My kitchen wood floor is in need of refinishing so I have some wood swelling issues when steaming, but not as much as I had with mopping or hand scrubbing.
We had engineered hardwood that was sealed and in very good condition. We had never owned a house before so we used steam cleaners after seeing ads on tv. for about 3 years the floors seemed fine but after that the finish started visibly dulling and the floor developed deep grooves and cracks. We called for estimates to refinish the floor but we were told that the grooves were too deep to repair and refinishing would not help. Wood hates water and steam. Finally now that we have new hardwood floors, I've retired my steam vac and use a sweeper and then a Bona mop designed for hardwood. Does an excellent job. We were recommended this (not the brand but method of cleaning) by the hardwood manufacturer and also the installer.
We have the Wagner Power Steamer (http://www.amazon.com/Wagner-500-Watt-Demand-Steamer-Cleaner/dp/B00...) and we love it.  It is a cannister model with various attachments.  I love the hard surface attachment, but absolutely adore the mini-scrub brush attachments.  They make the steamer something like a pressure washer but with steam.  They make really quick work of cleaning grout and reaching into corners.  It even has an attachment for removing wall paper.
I love my doodle and hate cleaning my ceramic tile floors.... so I read your review and others and just purchased one for myself.  I am so excited for it to arrive so I can give me floor a good cleaning - it's been a while due to back surgery!
