This how Toby looked when he got up this morning. Immediately called the vet this morning, we have an appointment at 1:30pm. He was treated for Uveitus in April of 2015, also for the cloudy eyes. No discharge from the eyes. (It was also mentioned to us at that time that a tumor behind the eyes could cause this, although meds treated the eyes successfully and they didn't feel we needed further testing at that time). Something comes to mind.... when this happened in April, 2015, Toby had been at grooming the week before. We had let our groomer know about his eyes, and she said there was nothing she would have used that could have caused this. She has been grooming him for years, is good with him, we always stay and wait for him, never leave him because he is always at risk for seizures, and not many groomers will accept him. Toby was just groomed last Wednesday. Just a thought. Has anyone had this happen, would there be any possibility that his eyes are super sensitive to something she may be using during the bath? He has so many issues and is so sensitive to everything. Have any of you seen this before, and any thoughts on this? Asking for prayers for Toby today.
UPDATE: Eyes are clearing up, left eye still pretty cloudy, right eye has made big improvement, still have a ways to go, but I am so happy he is improving. As of last night he was able to follow us and see his ball, that's a very good thing! I do have a call into the vet, he is now vomiting everything up. His stomach was quite unsettled last night, had to get up a couple times through the night to go out, which is very unusual for him. He has very loose stools now. He is also refusing to eat, his meds require him to eat, he has even vomited up seizure meds from this morning...we have tried small pieces of burger, chicken, watermelon, canned dog food, even tried wrapping his phenobarb in a small piece of cheese, no luck! Vet told we could give him Pepcid Ac if he got an upset stomach, we have been giving 10 mg tablet twice a day since he started on the meds. Thank goodness we have a SpotBot!

So glad to read that Toby is improving.
Thank you. He is doing well and has made good progress.
UPDATE: Toby is doing quite well, Yesterday he still needed a bit of sweet potato added to his kibble, but he was eating. Today he is eating his kibble with no sweet potato. Started him back on the Minocycline yesterday No more loose stools, back to normal! I will be adding Rimadyl to our list of meds that Toby can not have. His energy level is back to normal. It is a beautiful day out so I think we will go out for some walks. His eyes look good, back to normal. He sure fights getting the drops put in, he runs when he sees the bottle of eye drops come out, but hopefully a few more days and we'll be done with those. He hasn't had anymore seizures this week, thank goodness! We have another follow up appointment next Thursday so that should go well. Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers and suggestions! ((HUGS)) from Toby and I
I'm so glad to hear this great update!
He has given us so many scares over the past few years. , and we still need to find out why he has repeated episodes of Utevitus, Dr said this is very rare, but we will keep moving forward with all of this. Seizures are another big issue right now, as his seizures have gotten considerably worse, more frequent and more severe, with longer clusters now, but hopefully with the adjustments in his meds that the Dr is doing we can get that more under control.
This is such positive news, Debbie. I hope your follow up appts. help you figure out the "whys'
Debbie, I just read this post this morning and when I got to the end I was so relieved to hear Toby is doing well. He sure is lucky to have you and I will add him in prayers for continued good health and answers to your issues. Thank God there are doodle mom's like you !!! Happy Doodle Mothers Day
I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to update with recent thoughts on this condition. Our vet recently went to a 4 day veterinary conference and the "milky/cloudy" eyes were a topic of discussion at this conference. Toby was actually diagnosed with Utevitus, with our vet and consultation with a opthamologist. Per the Opthamoligist at the conference , our vet forwarded this information to me..." .this is a condition called "lipemic aqueous". It happens after they get fed something (or into something!) that is pretty high in fat (like a cheeseburger, etc) and they have concurrent uveitis (inflammation) within the eye. The normal barrier gets compromised that protects the eye and fat gets into that chamber. You treat it with topical steroids (which is what we did) ± oral steroids (which I think we did that as well) and it resolves. Diet change or modifications to avoid those high fat foods is all you need to do to prevent it." Toby does not get table food, but I will definitely look at fat content within his diet, which is actually pretty basic. Just wanted to share this info as everyone I have showed this picture to is completely puzzled and have never seen this before. I just really hope Toby doesn't experience this again.
I'm so glad that Toby got better. I was so worried when this happened. It's really interesting information. I've never heard of something like that. May you never have anything like this again, but thank you for sharing the information!
Thanks. Seems like everyone we talk to has never seen this before, so I thought it would be good to share. I am so glad our vet was able to learn more about this from the conference and was able to discuss Toby with the Specialists at the conference. He even took the pictures of Toby's eyes with him. :)
Thank you for sharing. I had no idea. Makes me glad that we have not fed table scraps and only kibble. I’m sharing this with my Dog owning friends.
