Those of you with curly doodles....what kind of comb or brush do you use? My doodle's back end gets a little matted at times.

This question may be better answered in the grooming group! It may already be answered actually!
ok thanks
No problem!
No matter what brush you use, the answer is a steel comb to get the mats out--the brush will not get to the skin and will only get the top hairs smooth--Doodle owners also love the Les Pooches brushes, but they are currently hard to get.
Besides that steel comb, we use a flea comb on Polly's legs, tiny matts seem to get right through even the close end of the steel comb. We brush legs, then comb, then flea comb.
I would have to agree with you. I'm finding the steel comb to be the most useful. I'll have to google to see what you mean by rotating tines. Thanks for the brush tip.
Googling offered me nothing. I found combs called "rotating tines combs" but nothing that described what that meant. Excuse my ignorance but do the teeth on the combs pivot or something?
I can totally see the benefit of the shape of the Les Pooches brush (and it's clones) because that is exactly how I attempt to use my slicker brush now, but I can see how it would be more effective. Thanks for the link.
I'm eating humble pie right now as I was just celebrating how easy Molly's coat has gotten to brush but currently I'm fighting the battle of the "tangles everywhere" again. :(
I just bought a steel comb for Ragley and I can't believe I waited so long. It's my new favorite grooming tool. I almost never use my slicker brush anymore.
Here is a link to the comb Ro was talking about:

Those of us in southern California shared grooming tools at one of our romps and this comb was a major hit. We made a group order and even sent some to Las Vegas for their romp this weekend.
