Companion needed

I was thinking that Harpo would be a fine "only dog", but now I am not so sure.  His friend Laila is staying with us for a while and they are so bonded that I question he could make it without her (or another pup).  Yesterday I took her for a walk around the neighborhood and he was frantic in the house alone.  They wrestle and play constantly.  So, anyone know of a dog that is available for rescue or rehome who would be a good companion for Harpo?  My breeder is breeding some sheepadoodles, but they will not be available for a year and that is a long time for a dog to wait for a companion.

Lynda, with tears, I wish Groucho fields and doggie friends now forever. I understand why it took a week to tell us. Sometimes emotions are so intense there are just no words. I wish I had more words myself, to help you and Harpo through this very lonely feeling.
There are many lonely dogs in the world if you find it best to ad another into your household soon.
I do believe dogs mourn deeply the loss of other animals and humans.
Harpo feels just like you.
I hope you find the answers you need for your family soon and it makes you smile up at Groucho.

Lynda,  I am so so sorry to hear about Groucho Too...haven't been on DK very often lately so did not see anything.  We feel so blessed and lucky to have found Buzz on DRC.  He joined our family in December and he and Bay have become best buds in the past 2 months.  Try looking on their site (bottom of main page) to see if there is a suitable rescue available.  Your application will be screened for a match based on Harpo and your home environment.  It worked so well for us and I only wish you have that kind of perfect match.  Best wishes and again, my condolences.

I called and he is in the Norco Animal Shelter and they are a first-come, first-served facility for adoptions.  They said I could come camp out but they will not adopt out early.  He comes up for adoption on Mar. 18.  They did not ask anything about the family or the facility.  I have contacted IDOG and DRC to see if they can pull him since he is a doodle.  I will contact Lynda Strommer and see what she thinks.  I would be willing to go to Norco (near Las Vegas) if I could pull him for IDOG or DRC and foster until adoption was arranged.  We will see what comes of this.
