Hoping and praying that none of my fellow Doodle Lovers are effected by this, but wanting to send my thoughts and prayers to those that are and to let you know your Canadian friends are feeling for you. How heartbreaking that society (and lost individuals) can be so cruel. Children under 10 years old don't deserve this fate for any reason.. God Bless!!

Yeah, it's a real problem. I agree with Andrea, the culture that we have here is a big source of the issue and such a daunting thing to even think about changing.

It's very early and there is so much to learn about this but what I wonder is how could a young man who was this disturbed be walking around AND buying guns.  He was clearly very disturbed...didn't anyone know this?  Didn't anyone do anything about it?

They are saying he has a severe case of Autism but that also can not be proven...the neighbors said he was a sick young man and they knew his family.

He could not possibly have a severe case of autism and get a gun etc. But he could be somewhere on the spectrum of autism. He certainly was sick in some way. There will be lots of speculation for a while and maybe we will never know.

I think it is very easy to get guns unfortunately.

It is easier to get guns illegally than it is legally. When people buy assault rifles on line it is easy...that is where it should start. But again, gun laws are all messed up.

I saw an TV piece the other day that there are communal guns out there now. Gang members and such leave guns in dropoffs, like a paper bag under a bench, for someone else to use. Any kid could accidentally come across one of these weapons.

The latest news says that the guns were actually registered to the Mom...there is so much more to learn about this.

So what, the MOM ordered assault rifles I doubt that. The kid may have ordered them under her name. Never ordered a gun before but whenever this stuff happens they always show the flaws in the laws for purchasing a gun.

From what I understand, the guns were registered to his mother.  No comfort  from that if the disturbed have access.
