*****UPDATE - I DID NOT LEAVE DAISY - HERE IS WHY
9:25 for a 9:30 appt - stood in lobby for 10 minutes while worker chatted with a vendor about her new cat she was holding - 10 minutes!!!! Okay I will let that one go the cat was real pretty.
9:40
Worker: what can I do for you?
Me: this is Daisy she has a 9:30 appt, (I would have said "who do we have here, it must be Daisy" because WE had a 9:30 appt, no one else was there).
Worker: has she ever been here before (????really, shouldn't you know that since I had extensive conversation with someone 2 days ago regarding my appt, but whatever).
Me: No this is our first time.
Worker: What are we going to do?
Me: I would like a summer cut, here is the instruction sheet with all the necessary items
Worker: Oh we can't follow pictures.
Me: Well the pictures are there to show you what the descriptions are.
Worker: Oh, well I guess we can try.
Me: You do scissor cuts right?
Worker: Not usually but we can if you want.
(at this point I have no intention of staying but I thought I would take it a little further)
Me: Well here are Daisy's shot records.
Worker: We don't need those.
Me: Really, shouldn't you know your clients are vaccinated and at the very least has bordetella vaccine?
Worker: Some dogs can't have certain vaccines.
Me: well then that should require some sort of waiver from the Vet shouldn't it?
Worker: Well we don't require them.
Me: You know what, I am not feeling comfortable leaving her right now, thank you for your time I will contact the owner and explain to her why.
ONWARD TO ANOTHER GROOMER! So disappointing.

Well I just left another Groomer, I think she may be it (if not then I will try to get this done myself per Sue and Camilla).
I walked in to her beautiful salon, no barking dogs but I could hear a blow dryer. A wonderful lady Vivian walked out to greet me. She got down on her knees and asked what Daisy's name was...and then called to her, Daisy actually went over shyly right away (this is a very big deal considering we were someplace new). She petted her, talked to her and felt her coat, then looked up at me and asked "Goldendoodle?" another point.
After discussing my wants and needs and then my fears she said "Daisy will do just fine here" I handed her my instruction sheet (with pictures - haha) and she said "great, I like it when the owner knows what she wants.", yet another point.
Of course I had to ask her what kind of cost was involved and frankly this is one thing that has kept me from going there in the first place - it is a beautiful old house, has retail space and grooming....they also offer dog massage and blueberry dog facials (ha ha ha I kept reading that and picturing D with blueberries rubbed in her face) as well as pawdicures. Well, what do you think $100, $125, at this point I didn't care but was pleasantly surprised when she said $65.
She also gave me a comb she uses to borrow, she said try it out and if you like it you can buy one here for $12 (I love my butter comb but this one really feels good in my hand).
Please please please make this one the right one, I really really liked her and so did Daisy. Her appointment is next Wed. at 1:30, she will be done at 4:00 not to shabby a 2-1/2 hour apt. compared to the usual 4 hours.
Did I mention she is on the way to work and back - I might just die and go to heaven.
I love your post...don't ya just love outstanding customer service. I took Rua in for heartworm test & shot today. Had a 2:15 appt w/the vet tech, so not too fussy about time. I showed up at 1:50, just because I was done with two of the errands I wanted to do, but didn't have time to do others. So, I walk in and it was "Hi, that must be Rua"!
I think we have to be able to do what you did there, more often. Vote with our money!
