Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just wondering who here allows their doodles on furniture and if you have any rules. My boys love the couches and I have no issue with it except with Jake who uses the recliners as springboards to jump onto his unsuspecting brothers. Ill have to see if I have a picture of him doing this but usually I am telling him not to use the chairs for play. That dog has more energy than a power plant!
The dogs are allowed to be on beds but they do sleep in there crates. I just cannot have 240 lbs of dogs on our master bed at one time while me and hubby attempts to sleep. The kids want one of the dogs to sleep with them but they still have too many toys on the floor that can be chewed.
Yesterday, Mac "found" my bed. I think he looks quite comfy. He didn't want to get off of it but hubby had to move him because Mac was on his side. So he picks him up and Mac decides to do the 63 lbs of dead weight routine as hubby attempts to move him. LOL. I'd love to see pics of your doodles on the people furniture. :)
Here is Mac on the bed for the first time. No problem jumping up to the bed which is pretty tall.
Don't Move Me:
I don't use furniture as springboards...much...

Yes, my kids slept with me for several reasons:
All of our children slept in our bed until they decided to move which was around six years old. This meant getting a bigger and bigger bed and having a small bed alongside ours at one stage too! We used to joke that we just needed wall to wall bed. We loved having them there and as I breastfed them it worked perfectly. I'm well aware it's not for everyone but each family does what is best for them. Same with the dogs I guess there is no right or wrong.
We allow Lulu on the living room furniture but she is not allowed on the beds (not my rule...my husband's). She is really good about this and will not get on the beds. We have steps that lead up to our bed and she will climb the stairs and stand there but will not get on the bed. That said, I do let her up there once in awhile. I was home sick last week and she slept with me all morning. I took a funny picture of her all sprawled out on the bed and had to show my husband. It seems that everytime I let her on the bed, something funny happens that I have to share with my husband.
We only allow Winston on the main living room sofa and its leather so very easy to clean. He is not allowed on the beds or the other house in the furniture.
That's so funny, Donna, my DD calls Jack her SnuggleUpagus!
We do allow it. Originally before we got her we were going to have a no furniture rule (my boyfriend's idea) but he quickly changed his mind. Now we are the ones that call her to come cuddle with us on the couch and bed. She is allowed to sleep with us in bed at night but she prefers to sleep in our bathroom on the cool tile floor (even in the winter). We know it's bedtime when Crush gets up, walks into the bathroom, and slams the door shut with her body.
The problem is when we go to my parent's house and my mom has a no dogs on the couch rule (her dogs shed and when mine gets up on there, the others follow suit). The second picture is at my parent's house. When their dogs bark at the door, Crush gets startled and stands up on the back of the couch.
