I have a list of websites with gorgeous Dog beds.  I love the mattress types and the good ones are expensive but I wonder if I will be wasting my money?  I have Vet bed in Riley's crate and he spends a while every evening scrunching it up into the corner and he then sleeps on the horrible tin floor.  During the day he loves the coldest tile floors.  It is not warm here so it's not like he needs to cool down though he does sleep sometimes on the couch.  I would love to get one of those beds for the winter but is this a crazy waste?  Is Riley unusual? and has anyone else bought a gorgeous bed and regretted it.

Yes! I spent over $100 on one from Drs. Foster & Smith - it had a paisley pattern and embroidery...pretty dumb move.  It is still usable, but Peri NEVER wanted to sleep on it at night. She chews her toys on it - it is out in the playroom where the dogs hang when we are gone.

The best bed ever is from Costco and was $60 or so...it is a round donut type one. Peri prefers it to our bed....she has no issue jumping off to sleep in her bed every night. We wake up most mornings and she has all 4 paws in the air she is so comfy.

Timely topic!  We just recently had an advertising network contact us about advertising dog beds for them.

The dog beds we are now promoting (meaning: we make a commission on any sales) are the DogPedic memory foam dog beds.  Every single living thing in our house (except Natalie) sleeps on a memory foam bed.  We love them and the dogs love them.

Check out the discussion I started about them here:  http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/memory-foam-dog-beds

And remember, 25% of all proceeds from any sales will go to Doodle and dog rescue.  Thanks for your support!

Clark, do you think Honda could contact you and offer good deals to us on a Honda Element?   Sounds good, huh  :)

Just thought, since there is a discussion about that tonight too

BTW Peri HATES beds/padding in her crate. She moves it to the side....she has a bare floor now (but is hardly in it anymore anyway).
Luca sleeps on a very comfy bed--mine! Sometimes Calla does do. They have Costco beds they use at will. Not like the one in the picture below but cushy.
Rooney has a fancy bed from Frontgate - even came with a bone pillow with his name, he never sleeps in it.  His comfy bed is MY bed - lol.
In the past two years, we've bought several beds for Sedona.  Fortunately, I've resisted the really expensive ones because each time she's had a new bed, she paws at it like crazy (as if there's something in there that she HAS TO have) and then within a day or so, she pees on it - even though she's otherwise house trained.  I've given up on the whole bed idea.  At night, she's in her crate (with a crate pad) and during the days, she's on the floor, up on the couch, etc.
I have beds all over the house, and both of my guys like them.  There are times they prefer to sleep on the cold floor, but most of the time they'll go for one of the beds. I think their favorite is one I got from Black Dog.
I have beds all over the house as well.  The girls sleep on all of them at different times and on the floor at other times.  I would say Sophie will choose a bed more than Lucy.  When they were puppies they didn't want anything in their crate though.  I would also suggest not spending lots of money on one bed ...... I've swapped them out several times over the 3 years so I go for good buys when I find them rather than one expensive one.
I'd wait til the winter to see if Riley might like it better.  Bexter prefers to lie on cold floors and over the air vents (he has now since forgotten his collar tag got caught on it before).  I know he tends to be hot as I think many doodles are.  I did buy him a bed (cheap), but he never is in it.  I am waiting to see if he will get in it on those cold wintery days...
I like having a bed, which I send Gavin to at various times of the day (like when we are eating supper).  It`s his ``spot.`` We have one on the main floor, one in the basement and one at the cottage.  He does not sleep on it at night, prefering to lie on the floor in our bedroom.  Other times he chooses the cold tile.  I would choose something that matches your decor.  I am not sure that they notice if it is comfy or not.

I can't help looking though.  I like this idea from etsy where you buy the cover and stuff it.  The XL takes four pillows and it's reasonably priced too!. One way of using old pillows...
