Does your doodle pray?

I'm curious to know if anyone else has a doodle who "prays."  Alma will lay in front of her food dish (usually pointed directly at it) for at least 5 minutes before eating.  We think she is giving thanks for her food before digging in.  She will even offer up a few kibbles on the rug nearby.  She takes 5 or 6 out of the bowl and drops them on the carpet.  Then she goes and eats out of the bowl.  When she is finished she goes and eats the few that she dropped.  And finally, she wipes her nose and face on the carpet like a giant napkin.  Amen!

Bailey uses our rug as a napkin too..Love her beard but boy it can cause a mess sometimes...Alma is just taking time out to say thanks for giving her such a good home....

Ahh, thanks.  We feel pretty lucky to have her.  Bailey is adorable.

No, but perhaps he should. He is a sinner. 

-thou shall not steal your owner's socks

-thou shall not chase the housecats

-thou shall not covet they neighbors squirrel

-thou shall not steal food from the counter

-thou shall not jump on people who ring the doorbell

-thou shall not bark at those walking down the street

-thou shall not tug on the leash

-thou shall not............ well just keep praying.

But he does eat slow and enjoy each bite.

lol!  Maybe that's what Alma is reciting before she eats - especially the part about the squirrels!

Just a thought but maybe she's praying for it to turn in to something better then just gives up and eats when it doesn't. :>)

I've actually had the same thought.  Maybe she's hoping and praying for a juicy t-bone!

lol I love it!! Both of my doods do this......and I never even thought of it as praying, LOL but that's what I'm going to call it from now on!! We always joke, if you want our doodles to calm down and lay, just put their food in their bowls and they will "pray" for a good 10 minutes or even more before digging in to eat.  lol and mine prefer to use the couch as their napkin!
