Does your Doodle "Talk"?

Max is 21 months old now and he is Sooo funny! He will sit and just talk to us, or if he doesn't like something, like when he's bugging for something and I tell him to go lay down...he will lay down but he will add a big sigh and then some rumbling....I can't believe how well he gets his point across!!!

I have to say that I can't get over how smart Goldendoodles are and how well Max listens. I swear he knows everything we say!!

Callie is not much of a talker, but she says volumes with her expressions and gestures. My favorite is when she "tells" me that she needs some love...she crawls up on to me, slams her big furry head into my chest and looks up at me. Melt!

The opposite of melt is when I've been out of town and have boarded her (mind you, I pay a small fortune to board her at private residence, where there are no crates or cages, just friendly, playful dogs her size, a fenced acre to run around on, and Callie gets to sleep in bed with the owner...it's not like she's someplace bad). Then I get the freezing cold shoulder, where Callie will just sit and glare at me, won't really let me pet her, and won't sleep in my bed that night. She's usually over it by the AM.

She may not have the vocal power, but she does an excellent job of letting me know how she's feeling!

Bella does the same thing, except with our legs because she's not big enough to reach that high. It's that and the charge through the legs over and over again if she wants pets. Bella does the other thing too and we're only gone for four hours every Sunday. She loves to come with us everywhere, even if its to just sit in the car. So she gets really bent.

I am 2300 miles away from Murphy and have to "Talk" to him on the phone. Dh puts it on speaker phone and Murphy comes when he hears my voice. I can hear his inquisitive sniffs and affectionate licks as he tells me he misses me.

My Lucy does talk to me AND I understand everything she is saying. I know her every ruff ruff, big sigh, groan, loud back, grrrrr, etc. each and every sound has a specific meaning which I will not disclose at this time. All doodles have their own words and that is just between them and their humans. It is secret !!!

My Cassie is the same way. I swear they understand exactly what to say & when. They are just like having another child in the house. I just love to hear her talk. My new baby is a Labradoodle. She is just learning to talk. Cassie is teaching Sasha well. My daughter will do something to annoy me & I look at Cassie & say "You tell her baby". Cassie then sits there & gives her an ear full. I can't help but laugh. If I had known having Doodles was this much I would have done this a long time ago.

Bodi talks! He says "I don't know" quite often when we ask a question!! He has also said "GO HOME" when he has had too much vacation!!! Of course, he never does this when a camera is handy to prove it!

Yes ...my wife and I call it the Willie Hour. Every night he will sing and talk...he loves to say "I love you". So adorable. And yes very smart...he wants to be a human!!!

Fenway definitely talks to us. If she doesn't like something we've told her to do sometimes she'll bark or do this grumbling noise as she's complying with the command. It's too funny. My husband and I often comment that she's a too smart for her own good!
