hey jamie! its probably not what you want to hear either. But i have the same issue!

My goldendoodle is 10 months and he sheds ALOT!!

i have the furminator and does help some. but theres no way of getting around all the hairballs on my hardwood floors.

i definitely suggest buying a swiffer duster, its works great. it clings onto the hairs instead of making it fly all around your home when youre trying to sweep it up.

I hope as he gets older, the shedding will decrease.

I also was told he would not shed. guess they were wrong.

I do have friends with Goldendoodles that dont shed or very minimal shedding.

Very time consuming, but daily brushing and combing will help.

Sadly many people believe the hype of "non-shedding, hypoallergenic" and in reality there are no guarantees of either. I had a breeder who knew her dogs and their offspring very well and with her experience with other litters was able to give me some idea of what to expect. She never said non-shedding and gave me the real facts from the get go.

We do have one who does not shed at all, I have to brush the hair out or it mats. So there are disadvantages of a non shedder as well. Lots of grooming involved.

Our other doodle mildly sheds and does not mat, but I do find whiffs of hair on the floors, but unless I don't vacuum at least every other day, it's not really noticeable.  Or maybe I've just gotten a little more lax about caring about furballs flying around?

I too would suggest shortening his hair and brushing/combing every day. Oh, and a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner is worth it's weight in gold.

Quincy doesn't shed but our new boy sheds like crazy.  Reading through the posts, I guess I can say a hair prayer that he stops once he grows whatever permanent coat he will have.  But I thing it's the Hair Gods laughing at me and getting back at me for "bragging" about my no shed Quincy!  Frankie's shedding is every bit as bad as our Morgan, a purebred Lab, and the same color.  Sigh.  Swiffters do help...I think I will look for a furminator, too.

Ours is an F2B.  She doesn't shed.  But her hair grows very quickly and is profuse.  If you don't cut it, she tends to mat.  If you cut her hair, yourself, you will see more hair coming out; I guess that must be true for all dogs.  But, even a trim for her looks like a major cut with the amount of hair that ends up on the floor. Because she is approximately 25% Golden Retriever, I can't guarantee that she is hypoallergenic, and from what I understand no dog may be and some people are allergic to a dog's saliva.  But, we are a family with quite a bit of allergies and we manage, even though we tend to bury our faces in her fur, kissing and hugging her quite often.

my doodle sheds as well and I have hairs on the floors, counters and under furniture. What helps is brushing her with the furminator, vacuuming frequently, rolling your clothes with lint rollers. I got a roomba automatic vacuum that has been wonderful. I have it set to go off during the night and it keeps my living room clean. It's great for maintenance, and gets you by until you vacuum yourself. I also look the other way, and try not to let it get to me. At least I don't have to pay for grooming her, she's less maintenance then my doodle that doesn't shed.
