I so wish Cooper would wear boots. I have her fur really long in the winter to keep her warm, and she gets so snowballed. But she just pulls them off. She will, at least, wear a rain coat

I heard shoes are bad for dogs. it makes them walk on their toes or something. is this true

I am not aware of boots making then walk on their toes,  but I do know they are necessary in certain climates and/or conditions.  Hunting dogs or dogs that go hiking can slice their pads on rocky terrain if they do not have boots on and many people use them for their dogs for protection in the snow, in extreme heat they are also useful in preventing the pads from getting burned, these are a few situations in which the boots really are beneficial.  Camus wore boots on his back paws due to a cutaneous horn that split the pad and again after he broke a bone in his paw.
