...not to be confused with the wooden fish bonker. LOL.
My 4 and 6 yr old have been having a difficult time asserting their authority over the doodles when it comes to situations such as the doodles jumping on them in play and greeting. On back legs the doodles are taller then the boys and saying "No get DOWN!" in their mild child voices seems to fall on deaf ears in the the throws of doodle joy. If DH or I are there of course there isnt an issue but the kids arent authoritative sounding.
Anyways yesterday I am busy when I hear "Down Abby! *bonk* "DOWN!"....There is Gabriel with a thin empty papertowel roll. It made a loud sound when he bonked Abby with it and Abby actually listened! -lol. The next thing I know the 4 yr old also has a doodle bonker shoved in the waistband of his pants like a gun in a holster. Puppy jumps up on him *Bonk*. Puppy sits down nicely.
I laughed so hard when I read this... Unfortunately, I'm at work and in my office. Alone. I give 'em about 10 minutes to start whispering about me at the water cooler. Anyway, great idea and thanks for the giggle!
Cute...tell the kids to talk through the empty towel holders, changes the pitch to their voices..not sure the dogs will listen...they might get jumped on more...Honey backs away...Hannah just gives a look...lol
Gotta try that. Finn jumps on Mylissa every time she comes over and he scratches her. Maybe a bonker will work but I have a feeling he will just jump at it.
OMG! I have the same problem with my 7 and 10 year old girls! I have one empty paper towl roll right now - gotta use some more towels and get another one QUICK! What a great idea!!!!
