Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I know many of you are on Facebook and the Goldendoodle group, but for those who might of missed it or those who aren't on there, there was a posting this morning about a very young (4-5 months I believe) young Doodle that died after spending 4th of July week-end at a Daycare/kennel facility. Ringo came home not himself and the parents were asking if this was normal or not, was he just mad at them or what. Then he started throwing up and they got him to a Vet the same day. They were later told to get him to an ER hospital and he died 5 mins after arriving. Heartbreaking for this young family! They suspect pneumonia. I'm not sure how quickly that comes on, or if there were signs missed at the Kennel or what. However, with the post earlier this week on here about the sudden unexplained deaths and now this one, I urge everyone if you have strange symptoms, don't waste your time getting on here to ask for advice ... go with your gut, if something isn't right, get them to a VET NOW!
While there is a lot of knowledge here, sometimes there isn't time to wait for answers.

Freaking me out!!
That's so sad and scary. I missed the post last week.
My neighbor's doodle became very sick after interacting with a frog or toad in their yard last week. He is alright now, but very quickly started to drool, have a runny nose, foam at the mouth, throw up, and have diarrhea. With all of the rain that many of us have been having, frogs and toads are out in full force. So, if you see your pup pawing at or bothering at a a frog or toad, keep a close eye on him or her, as some frogs and toads have a chemical on them that is toxic to dogs.
OMG this is very scary indeed. Wasn't there someone here the other day whose dog arrived back from boarding throwing up?or am I imagining it?
All of this is freaking me out. We have never boarded our doodles yet because we are so lucky to have family to care for them when we leave. However, my mom has said she probably can't do it anymore, so we were just talking about whenever we take our next vacation, we will probably have to board. Geez....Now I'm scared to death to leave them!
Really scary. It happens so fast!
Oh my goodness, heartbreaking. We must trust our instincts when it comes to our pets. When Peri seems "off" I always say to myself "give it a few hours". If she hasn't perked back up, I will take her in to vet.
I'm with you on that.
Very sad....good point about not wasting time when you can see that there's something wrong with your dog.
this is so sad and scary :(
