Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello all!
I was wondering how the various duties of owning a dog is divided up in your household. Do your kids help? How about DH? Are specific tasks assigned to specific people?
I'm just curious and interested on how others take on their doodle responsibilities.
Thanks!

I do all of the grooming but the rest of the duties are somewhat shared with me getting 75% of them. DH may have to take over some of the grooming as I have arthritis in my hands and grasping a comb or brush is becoming more difficult.
Since I was the one that convinced my DH that we needed not only 1 but 2 dogs, I end up with most of the doodle work. My DH does however take care of 90% of the poop pick up so I can't complain there! I am the one that does all of the doodle related research (grooming products, health issues, best food/toys/treats, etc). That doesn't bother me though because I am big into research and list making! I do all of the grooming, but DH steps in to hold Cubbie so that I can trim his back nails and holds Ollie still when I dry him after a bath...I guess he is the muscle in the operation here. :)
My husband is retired (I still work part-time) and one of the biggest reasons we got Sedona when we did was to give Doug a pal and something to do. He's the feeder, the poop picker-upper, the driver to the groomer, etc. He also spends tons of time each day throwing a yellow squeaky ball! I'm the one that gets to play and play and play - without all the work :)
I admit DH walks them more than I do, I'd rather play ball in the yard with them.
We both feed them whoever is around at feeding times.
I brush them and trim them
We all (Chloe too) go to the vet and the groomer for Myla
Whoever gets the big couch in the evening gets to snuggle with both doodles all night.
